The Company:
Our Client is a growing FTSE 250 oil and gas exploration and production company with current interests in eight countries around the world.
Their target is to deliver growth by building three quality businesses, in the North Sea, the Middle East/Pakistan and South East Asia, which together deliver 100,000 barrels of oil per day from around 400 million barrels of reserves.

The Role:
The Senior Structural Engineer will be primarily responsible for the delivery (design, fabrication and installation) of the various marine structures that are associated with the Catcher Subsea Development Project.
As a key member of the Premier Project Management Team, he/she will work with the Design Contractor(s), Fabricator(s) and Installer(s) to ensure the effective design and delivery of the marine structures is progressed in accordance with the project objectives covering HSE, installability, reliability, operability, schedule and budget requirements. Although based in Aberdeen, it is expected that the Senior Structural Engineer will be required to periodically visit the fabrication facilities during the onshore execution phase of the project.
As well as managing the day-to-day structural input requirements, the primary responsibilities of the Senior Structural Engineer shall include the following:
• Review and comment on all structural related design, fabrication and installation documentation;
• Engage with other project personnel to get their active involvement in the design process;
• Interface with other discipline engineers to ensure that the resolution of subsea related issues are mutually compatible with topsides designs and operations;
• Participate in HAZOPS, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and System Integration Testing (SIT);
• Provide leadership in demonstrating commitment to Premier’s HSE policy of no accidents, no harm to people and no harm to the environment.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering or the equivalent. Chartered status would be preferred.
Relevant experience in designing subsea structures for the oil and gas industry, at least some of which should have been attained on structures that have been installed within the North Sea.
A high degree of awareness of the legislative requirements and pertinent design codes and standards.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to perform duties with minimum supervision.
Strong interpersonal skills with experience working with engineers and multi-discipline teams.
