Our Client appears in the FTSE 100 index and is an international energy services company specializing in Oil and Gas and has annual revenues of over £2.6 billion. They work globally employing over 20,000 people on major operations including the UK

The Role:
•Performs the full range of subcontract activities, from preparation of ITT's and evaluation of tenders, through subcontract negotiation and award, to post award administration and subcontract close out. Accountable for delivery of subcontract tasks ensuring they are completed correctly and in a timely manner

Supervisory and Managerial Duties:
• Providing cover for the Subcontracts Manager as and when required


Main Duties:
• Reporting to the UK Subcontracts Manager and Operations Managers for the Duty Holder Projects with specific responsibility for:

o Participation in contract strategy discussions
o Making presentations to proposed suppliers
o Review of proposed Suppliers' subsequent proposals
o Preparation and review of subcontract documentation
o Negotiate, draft and arrange for execution of Subcontracts
o Evaluation of tenders
o Issue of ‘Award' and ‘Regret' letters
o Maintain the Subcontracts Register and maintaining the electronic and hard copy audit trails.
o Commercially and Contractually Administer all Subcontracts
o Participate and take the lead in pre and post award contractual and commercial meetings
o Provide advice and guidance to the Procurement team
o Negotiate, draft and arrange for the execution of various Contract Variations
o Renegotiate existing Subcontracts to bring about cost reductions
o Take the initiative in contractual and commercial disputes in order to gain/maintain a competitive edge

Must comply with and adhere to all the HSE policies and procedures of the company

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• In addition to an undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience, the individual should have varied and detailed work experience in the industry which would allow understanding of and exposure to key subcontracting or procurement concepts and principles
• Excellent working knowledge and experience of using Procurement / Supply Chain Management software


Personal Skills:
• Must have excellent communication skills both written and oral
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and supervise/support others
• Uses initiative to prioritise key tasks and solve problems
