The Company:
Our Client requires a Senior Subsea Controls Engineer. This exciting new independent oil operator in the North Sea will require someone to to demonstrate a proven track record for this type of role, drawing on experience of Subsea Control System, specification, design, construction and installation, coupled with previous experience in an Operator environment.

The Role:
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (key tasks/services for which incumbent is responsible)

 Promote HSEQ requirements across all Subsea Control System activities.
 Take an active role in option screening, selecting and defining the Subsea Control System facilities concept and FEED studies to mature the Project to sanction and into the Execution phase.
 Assist in the preparation of key project documents, i.e. Statement of Requirements, Basis of Design, Project Execution Plans.
 Prepare and support the Subsea Control System cost and schedule estimates.
 Provide inputs to Decision Support Package documentation and reviews.
 Prepare all applicable tender documentation and support tendering process with Contracts personnel.
 Assist with the technical assurance processes within EnQuest and externally as required to verify the subsea work including regulatory compliance, cost benchmarking, peer reviews, HAZOPs, HAZIDs, etc.
 Daily management of the Subsea Control Systems equipment delivery process.
 Regular travel to the Subsea Control System equipment vendor`s facilities as required.
 Participation in the architecture design and detailed engineering of Subsea Control Systems.
 Monitoring of the Subsea Control Systems equipment during build to ensure technical compliance, maintenance of quality standards, validity of qualification and testing and maintenance of build schedule.
 Liaison with package engineers in other equipment teams (Xmas Trees, Manifolds, Platform Topsides, Installation engineering, etc.) to ensure prompt and controlled interchange of information.
 Participation in post-build test programs (EFAT and SIT) through to the installation and pre-commissioning of the subsea equipment and the integration with topside systems and xmas trees.
 Management and logistical control of free-issue and test equipment.
 Interfacing with the other key functions within the project team; sub-surface, wells delivery, topsides.
 Other tasks as assigned from time to time with the agreement of the Subsea Projects Manager.

 Strong networking and communication skills externally and internally – ability to cultivate and build strong internal and external relationships with team members and business counterparts.
 Ability to work on own initiative with minimal guidance.
 Ability to display confidence in own abilities and is motivated to deliver.
 Ability to work across multiple activities and manage deadlines and conflicting priorities.

 Strong Subsea Control System and facilities background and familiar with North Sea working practices.
 Computer fluency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
 Previous experience of project cost, budgeting and planning activities, demonstrating the ability to review and sense-check work by others.
 Knowledge of offshore oil and gas regulatory and legislative requirements.
 Ability to critique and review technical work performed by others, or ability to identify gaps in own knowledge and offer assurance remedies.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
 Knowledge and experience across all aspects of Subsea Control System facilities: different system architectures, design, procurement, fabrication, installation and operation.
 Knowledge and experience across all aspects of the subsea oil field life cycle. Specifically including working with (or for) subsea engineering houses, subsea equipment suppliers/fabricator, subsea installation contractors.
 Demonstrable experience of integrated planning and management of key project, and operational interfaces.
 Contractual and commercial awareness.
 Understanding of project controls including budget, cost & schedule control, and reporting.
 Demonstrable understanding of E&P facilities practices (design through to operations), an understanding of interface requirements with the subsurface and facilities disciplines.
 Recent working experience at this level.
 Previous experience in an Operator environment of value (decision) processes

 Related Graduate Engineering or Science degree

 Current BOSIET, MIST and medical certification
