We have a vacancy for a Senior System Integration Engineer
As a Senior System Integration Engineer you will provide technical leadership and ownership for the system design.. You will specify, design and implement overall system designs comprised of Mechanical, Electronics and Software components. Working with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers you will deliver optimised solutions to meet the requirements of the business and customers.
This role includes leadership, technical decision making whilst still enabling you to be personally involved in the design of products and technology research.
You will hold the overall technical responsibility for the metrological performance of the product, whilst maintaining an interface to the wider product development team, allowing you to further develop your career.
Lead the research and development with a team of Mechanical, Electronic and Software Engineers through product design / technology investigations.
Research, specify, design and document the metrology system in the product – This will include specification of electronic, mechanical and software components, the setting of error and power budgets, and an understanding of metrology (ultrasonic measurement systems for gas).
The Senior System Integration Engineer will create the Definition of design validation test plans, testing of your designs to ensure that the product complies with the specification and specific metrology regulations (MID).
Take the lead in analysis of results during the validation process. You will be able to analyse performance non-conformities to root cause, then work with the design team to create updates to the product to ensure compliance of product.
Work with the project and product managers to plan timelines and budgets for projects.
Work with the project manager to ensure that the technical design team works efficiently to meet deadlines.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum BEng/ BSc in a technical subject (Engineering, Maths, Physics) or equivalent experience.
Significant experience in an systems engineering design and validation environment.
The Senior System Integration Engineer will have Strong technical knowledge of embedded systems and components (including software and its interactions with other parts of the system), and relevant experience in the design and validation of high volume products.
Experience in the detailed debugging of complex system interactions between Real Time software and embedded microprocessor and SOC systems.
Experience of design for EMC, Design for Test and Design for high volume Manufacture.
Experience in the setting of statistical process and product capability metrics, and their validation during product introduction.
A thorough understanding of the application of statistical methods to the design and implementation of sampling systems.
Proven experience of whole lifecycle development
