The Role:
Position description - Purpose ________________________________________
Purpose The Projects & Technology (P&T) upstream and downstream major projects offices, located in Kuala Lumpur and Bangalore, provides project expertise for the delivery of On-shore (Gas, Downstream) and Off-shore field developments within the Asia Pacific region. P&T Projects HSE supports both the On- and Off-shore projects from Identify and Assess through to Execute. The emphasis of this role is guiding the design in such a way that it minimises the HSE risks.

This position will provide you with an opportunity to spread the net of your skills in a truly Global environment. You will be in the forefront of improving HSE and integrating all aspects of health, safety, environment, social performance and security into the major capital projects for Company. In addition, you will provide HSE assurance and advice to project design teams.

The main purpose of this position is :
Planning, execution and delivery of HSSE-SP for medium projects, and/or significant portion of major projects.
Realise and deliver maximum value from company business opportunities.

This will require application of a full spectrum of HSE skills including setting up HSSE/SP management systems and providing HSE risk management support. Deliverables will address the full range of technical, environmental and social issues in a way that is fully integrated with the management of other business risks and activities.

In summary the role has as main focus areas:
- Goal Zero: an assured and repeated delivery of company projects with HSSE+SP risks demonstrably managed to as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP), creating a workplace without harm.
- Discipline engineer in ensuring that technical HSE engineering activities and deliverables are undertaken in accordance with the HSSE & SP Control Framework, DCAF and associated standards, guidelines (PG1 HSE in Projects Guide) and relevant regulatory safety requirements.
- Competent to be TA2 for technical safety deliverables.
- To provide integrated HSE risk management support (including hazard identification, major hazard assessment, developing HSE Cases and contributing to layout reviews, human factors and health risk assessments, ESH impact assessment, as part of the Hazards and Effects Management Process) across the full lifecycle of Projects.

Accountabilities Ensure the project delivers company global and local commitments for HSSE-SP.
Delivery of all regulatory approvals.
Ensure that safety, environment, SP/SD risk management principles are properly incorporated into Project Design.

Deploy appropriate specialist support from the regional HSE pool and/or from around the Group: (Health, Security, SD/SP, HSE Services, 3rd parties)
Provide HSE/SD leadership in the project through continuous engagement, communication and motivation.
Preserve company license to operate.

Experience and Qualifications required ________________________________________
Experience and Qualifications required University level degree in an engineering or other relevant field. 10+ years experience in HSE particularly in off-shore and on-shore projects both front end and execution (e.g. construction activity offshore / onshore).
Technical competence in technical safety deliverables and processes for downstream and offshore.
Demonstrated ability to deal with multiple, often conflicting, goals and priorities. Provides clear and decisive leadership in an environment of many competing priorities and diverse activities and issues.

Accountable for significant HSE delivery on two or more projects, through multiple project phases.

Able to identify and address novel problems, including leveraging other's expertise.

Proven record of effective team leadership/participation, preferably in diverse and distributed environments.

Demonstrated Behavioural Imperatives.
