The Company:
Our client is one of the world's largest integrated energy companies conducting business in countries all around the globe. They are engaged in every aspect of the crude oil and natural gas industry, including exploration and production, manufacturing, marketing and transportation, chemicals manufacturing and sales, geothermal, power generation, renewables and advanced technologies.

The Role:
As a Technical Safety Engineer, you will support the Project Safety Engineer Discipline Lead in providing technical safety engineering support to ongoing projects and development opportunities. An important aspect of the position is to interface with contractors, our joint venture partners, the operations team and the internal project teams.
Your main tasks will be related to safety studies, risk analysis, assurance and verification of the technical design of safety systems and functions.
Your other accountabilities will be:
- Supporting the project managers, project teams, joint venture partners and contractors
- Support project safety engineer discipline lead, function as competent engineer in the project team on behalf of the x-border technical authority.
- Providing technical safety input to design basis documents, technical reports, schedules and plans, technical requisitions and contract documents.
- Assuring the quality of technical safety design and safeguard the design integrity of the asset
- Verifying and commenting on design documents from contractors and the joint venture partner
- Participating in reviews and audits
- Ensuring all necessary activities related to technical safety are executed in a timely manner and to the right quality in order to meet overall project goals and objectives
- Ensuring correct input to update the relevant safety studies.
- Working closely with the project HSE team, other disciplines in the project operations and other key stakeholders
- Contributing to a healthy and safe work environment through knowledge, awareness and adherence to the companys HSE policy.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
With a university degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, and substantial technical safety engineering experience on large brownfield modifications, development projects or operations projects.
You should have knowledge of operating company's responsibilities and accountabilities to the authorities when executing projects and operations.
We will also look for good interpersonal and communication skills, together with the ability to interact with customers and contractors.
Experience from the Norwegian Oil and Gas industry is a prerequisite, and more than 7 years or more of experience within Technical Safety is required.
