The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The Role:
My client has recently secured orders for 40 large Transformers for installation and commissioning projects to be delivered over next 3 years.On the back of this, the client is now proactively looking to recruit 2 x Senior Transformer Technicians to support the execution of the installation & commissioning projects. Projects will be based all over the UK and potential candidates must be prepared to stay away from home as and when required. The successful candidates must be able to proactively identify and report potential equipment failures and request corrective actions. In addition, they will be required to manage the activities for the appropriate portfolio, including Factory and Site Repair and Installation & Commissioning.

Key duties will include:

- Lead and drive the teams to perform a variety of complex engineering / mechanical assignments, which typically require the use of advanced and innovative techniques
- Handle any task from engineering - repair and maintenance of customers product/systems for repair, extension, upgrades, migration, retrofits
- Manage all resources and account for all projects and services
- Plan and execute improvements for infrastructure, processes and technology
- Coordinate and perform all service projects, incl. all internal and external deliveries as well as the coordination of assignments together with other departments/units
- Provide consulting services to business operations and customers
- Investigate customer needs by professional consulting, e.g. for complex requirements
- Deliver presentations together with sales representatives
- Support and advise the sales forces
- Calculate and work out tenders for customer solutions and for tailor-made solutions (if applicable after consultation with specialist department)
- Manage projects, create milestones, project plans, cost supervision, action steps, project reviews, project supervision, including all commercial elements
- Ensure optimal project management together with the team and actively support engineering, site personnel and commissioning

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree or diploma in an engineering field with 5 years professional experience as Service technician / Engineer
• Recorded in-depth knowledge of specific service offerings
• Proven ability to work independently
• Proven ability to lead a team through effective planning and delegation of workload
• Ability to manage costs on projects within budget
• Proven excellent internal/external customer focus
• Experience from a Design department; or in a Utility/Industrial plant maintenance department; or in Service from a competitor
