The Company:
Our Client is a large Automotive and Commercial Vehicle OEM, with a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering on a contract basis. These opportunities are typically based in their research and development facility located in Dunton which is the largest automotive technical centre in the United Kingdom.

The Role:
Position Description:
Senior Vehicle Integration Engineer Responsibilities of a Vehicle Integration Engineer: Act as the surrogate customer during the development and launch phases of new and current model programs. This role allows you to have a direct input into the Vehicle and its attribute balance. Take ownership of the management of key vehicle attributes and lead collaboration between the engineering teams to meet program targets. Be involved in vehicle development from concept to manufacture, defining benchmarking, target setting and hard point definition. Manage resolution of technical conflicts and issues between engineering teams to agree trade-offs to best meet product level specifications. Liaise with the test team to plan and perform validations. Provide customer level view point and guidance in cross functional issue discussions. Responsible for vehicle integration (VI) of Transit carline vehicles / brand technologies reporting to the Transit VI Supervisor and interfaces with all relevant areas including: Study, request, participate in customer feedback processes Assemble reports from Customer feedback events to progress issues with PAT / PMT and track to closure Support Engineering evaluation teams at all phases of the program Arrange drive appraisal logistics and evaluation at key phases or the program development Provide technical support for Marketing activities

Skills Required:
¿ Demonstrated technical engineering ability ¿ Good analytical and problem resolution skills ¿ Strong team working and leadership skills ¿ The ability to communicate clearly in writing, over the phone and face to face

Skills Preferred:
Vehicle Evaluation / Attribute experience / Launch Team Experience

Experience Required:
More than two years relevant product or engineering experience, not including sandwich courses or business placements.

Experience Preferred:
Vehicle Development / Launch Team experience

Education Required:
Relevant Engineering degree or have completed two thirds of formal study towards degree course and commitment to complete studies, or equivalent industry experience.

Education Preferred:
Mechanical / Automotive Engineering Degree

Additional Information :
cont: Support procurement / rental of competitor vehicles for Benchmarking. Give Program specific input to Systemic Issues process Attrnd Quality PAT and cascade status and issues Lead Transit Vehicle Engineering Cost Attack process tracking and facilitate cross PMT / PAT communication to allow rapid implementation of identified actions. Facilitate cross vehicle attribute communication and issue resolution Use corporate tracking tool (GI) to track current development status versus requirements. Monitor Vehicle Engineering Related Concerns / AIMS issues to ensure robust issue closure in Launch. Check test results for compliance with requirements within efdvs system Attend T&D meeting as single point of contact for all VE attributes for assigned program and ensure updates / test delays are communicated and risks identified to wider program team. Travel required to cover R202, quality and competitor evaluation drives in Lommel, Kocaeli, Cologne and other locations
