The Company:

The Role:
* Plan and manage the new start-up for new ventures operations - likely/possible upcoming new country entries: Turkey, Tunesia, South Africa, Libya re-entry. Depending on license agreement and project status, this could/will include leading or contributing to Wells project planning, contracting strategy, operating model, scouting trips, logistics, cost estimating and liaison with exploration partners, C&P, logistics, etc..

* Ensure timely delivery of optimum well design concept(s) through the GWDP/ORP process, incl Management of Change, stimulated by Deliver-the-Limit techniques, spelling out key risks & mitigation actions to achieve GOAL ZERO & TOP QUARTILE

* Plan and design wells with full compliance to support rig operations with implementation of Shell P&T HSE policies, standards and procedures.

* Provide and obtain challenge for well designs, stimulated by thorough internal and external benchmarking, gaining support by early and regular engagement with the relevant Shell Global PTEs and SMEs

* Construct Top Quartile (TQ) Staircase Business Improvement Plans and ensure their successful implementation.

* Provide detailed design, planning, cost estimation and front end cost management optimised for standardisation and within economic parameters

* Communicate effectively with stakeholders on all Wells aspects

* Contribute by technical and leadership example towards developing a high performing integrated Wells team that achieves GOAL ZERO and TQ well delivery

* Establish and maintain exemplary HSE management standards

* Help to ensure appropriate resourcing for new ventures to start-up

* Capture learning and best practices and share these regionally and globally

* Ensure plans are in place for Journey Management, Security.

* Contribution to the departmental HSE targets.

* Actively participate in departmental and Contractor HSE meetings.

* Implement HSE action points assigned to team are monitored, using the Fountain software system.

* Support incident investigation team in the event of a potential severity rating category 3 or above in operations within his area of responsibility.

* Support with adherence to Well Engineering Manual and approval party for any dispensations or deviations from existing standards and procedures

* Coach, lead and monitor operational staff to appropriate skills and competency within the New Venture Operations


Health, Safety & Environment
* Exemplary HSE leadership and management and apply the life saving rules into the design and operations to have no harm to people or the environment and to achieve GOAL ZERO.

Planning and Organisation
* Timely delivery of optimum detailed well designs skilfully applying the UI Global Well Delivery Process to best effect with key project risk/opportunities and mitigation plans identified.
* Timely submission of all well engineering regulatory submissions

*Design within Shell standards, CDTM, Operating Guidelines unconventional development, Well control manual.

Plan Exploration / Appraisal / Pilot wells for land rigs with both conventional and unconventional development focus. This is in support of possibly multiple landrigs in different countries.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* A graduate engineer with a degree in relevant technical discipline
* Completed Round I and Round II self study exercises and passed associated exams.
* Issued the Round II certificate.
* Possess a valid IWCF certificate at supervisor level.
* Proven Project / Team / management skills with people of diverse backgrounds (cultural and technical competencies)
* Preferred - Awareness in core Sub Surface Disciplines

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Experience - 10 years Well Engineering Experience of which 2 years in leadership role. Experience in WE planning and Execution role (WE operations, SWE design or SWE operations).
* Coaching ability through Diversity and Inclusiveness.
* Strong understanding of Well Delivery Process including Advancement of New technology
* Skills with softwares like Wellcat / IDM / Wellplan for windows / Casing seat
* Risk assessment and mitigation
