The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The Role:
Carry out the activities of “SUPPORT/Commissioning Engineer” whilst utilising the company safe systems of work and complying with all statutory legislation.
Carry out the support/commissioning activities as detailed in any inspection and test plan and/or design intent plan or as approved/authorised by customer or customer representative.
Carry out support/commissioning activities as detailed in any operations and maintenance manuals for the client and any other 3rd party protection and control products and systems.
Promote good relations and synergy both internally and externally.
Maintain Support Database, complete all customer fault reports & commissioning documentation where required in a timely manner
Represent the client in a commercial function where possible.
Maintain a high standard of housekeeping on all company and customer locations and properly maintain all instruments, vehicles, tools, protective clothing and test instruments ensuring with valid calibration and PAT test certification
Manage, monitor, develop and motivate the staff under his control, to contribute towards maximum individual and collective effectiveness. Keep the Commissioning Officer, Site Service Manager and Project Manager aware of any personnel problems or Technical problems. Assist in the training of personnel on new and modernised equipment as required.
Report promptly any potential new business opportunities while visiting customer premises.
Support to Rail Control System Projects
Support NICAP Projects
Carry Support Telephone and be available for emergency callout on a rotation basis

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Typically degree qualified professional with significant experience and member or fellow of relevant professional institution(s) or equivalent.
An expert in the area of manufacturing and business performance improvement with extensive operations, engineering and management experience in appropriate sectors.
An expert in management of change and project management who is able to work at all levels within client organisations.
