The Role:
- Full responsibility of Service business in nominated market area.
- Main focus will stay within Service business. Keep himself well informed of all new boiler sales cases and project, but new boiler commercial and execution projects will be managed directly from NB organization.
- Builds and develops local organization for being able to meet agreed performance and financial targets.
- Develops tactics and strategies together with PGA service management to ensure continuous profitable growth.
- Works actively in customer front to develop strong company image and to understand local customer needs.
- Effectively manages available organizational resources to meet or exceed Korea Service business financial targets including new orders booked, profitability and cash flow.
- Assures that Korea Service sells what it can deliver. Manages and leads the development of high quality, accurate and reliable proposals and estimates. Assures that project mix sold meet or exceed budgeted OEP with acceptable levels of risk. Approves Service proposal offerings as required by the PGA BAAL and actively participates in proposal and project review meetings as required.
- Assures that Korea Service delivers what it sells. Manages leads and directs subordinate resources so that all Service projects meet or exceed budgeted OEP. Insures that all Service projects are profitable, safe, and high in quality and on time.
- Fully cognizant about the major activities and major problems on all active Korea proposals and projects. Obtains weekly status updates from direct reports and communicates status to VP Service PGA, the rest of the PGA executive management team and to other departments within PGA to assure streamlined coordination and resource planning. Monitors performance of Services projects against the established scope, schedules and budgets through active participation in monthly contract review meetings.
- Determines manpower needs and organizes, selects, and maintains a well-qualified staff and management team. Develops and manages to departmental staffing plans to assure an appropriate level of resources is available to support timely completion of business activities.
- Assures preparation of departmental budgets for assigned departments. Reviews monthly labor and budget reports for respective departments and assures departments are effectively managed to achieve these budgets.
- Responsible for following up PGA business practices and procedures. Develop all needed local practices and procedures. Identifies standards, procedures and work processes in need of improvement through analytical methods including bench marking of industry and internal best practices. Develops, plans, assigns, and organizes continuous improvement efforts to achieve a world-class operations.
- Provides the enthusiastic leadership and effective management to motivate the Korea Service team. Applies leadership and management skills and personal interest and enthusiasm to help subordinate managers succeed and achieve planned objectives.
- Gives frequent, open and honest feedback to subordinates and assures that employee performance is effectively managed throughout the Service organization. Promptly and effectively addresses employee performance issues.
- Assures proper approval of all proposals, invoices, documents, agreements, contracts, change orders, requisitions etc. in accordance with written procedures and the BAAL.
- Develops and maintains effective, cooperative working relationships with key personnel in customer and vendor organizations.
- Maintains strong knowledge of the Power Industry in general and key customers and competitors in particular.
- Should be able to take long business trip at domestic or overseas sites and should be ready to execute over time work in consideration of site work schedule or situation.
- Strong organizational, commercial and technical skills, sound judgement and the ability for independent evaluation and decision-making for service work.
