Our client is an International Energy Company.

The Role:
Position Summary
This position is responsible for the timely, accurate and complete settlement of physical and financial commodity transactions. This consists of validating transactions prior to settlements, coordinating with counterparties to resolve transaction discrepancies and invoicing transactions. Specific knowledge of energy marketing and trade settlements for various markets is required.

Key Accountabilities
• Ensure the accurate settlement of physical and financial transactions.
• Perform mid-month and month-end checkouts with counterparties.
• Assist in resolving deal capture system issues that result in downstream inconsistencies.
• Interact with traders, volume analysts, and counterparties to resolve price and volume discrepancies.
• Monitor outstanding A/R and A/P balances and work with counterparties to resolve in timely manner.
• Develop, document, and maintain procedures for related activities.
• Actively seek continuous process and internal control improvements.
• Assist with coordination of all audit requests and help ensure adherence to governance frameworks
• Identify issues and develop, recommend and implement solutions.
• Perform special projects as dictated by business needs.

Experience Needed
• Accounting/Business/or related degree from an accredited university required.
• Minimum of 2-3 years settlements or related experience in a commodity trading environment preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Languages, and Attributes
• Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and deal capture systems.
• Experience with SAP a plus.
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
• Self motivation with an eye for detail and accuracy.
• Good problem solving skills with the initiative to investigate, analyze, and resolve issues independently.
