The Role:
Mission

The SGP Modification Manager will manage all Engineering/fabrication/installation/precom aspects related to all modification to be made on the SGP plant including but not limited to Mercury Removal Unit installation, fire fighting system modification, utilities extension. The post holder will have to cope with all aspect of this work, dispatch, manage and prioritise the various works, deal with interface team to capture constraints on interface with project, other package (SPS and SURF), manage interfaces with various specialists in HQ, manage contractor responsible to perform engineering of the work, work in close cooperation with the interface manager and report to the project manager on regular basis to capture main difficulties with proposed way forward.

Activities

The Modifications Manager is responsible for the following major contract and activities:

• Develop/review the technical Scope of Work (exhibit A &E) to be included in the SGP modification EPIC contract and LLIs orders.
• Manage, with Contract Manager, the pre-contract award clarifications and technical evaluations/recommendation.
• Assist, manage and organise with contract team the SGP Modifications EPIC (Engineering/ Procurement/ Installation/ Construction) contract build-up and LLI orders.
• Manage the EPIC contract within the agreed budget and schedule for completion and in line with SOR.
• Pro-actively liaise with Technology, Drilling, Operations, Contractor, Sub-Contractors, Vendors and certifying agency teams on all aspects of the project
• Ascertain contractor progress and produce reports as required throughout the duration of the project
• Propose to Project manager resources, to organize and to manage the mobilization, and to manage of the team required to perform the work required both onshore and on site.
• Ensure all necessary technical reviews are planned and executed, and actions closed out in a systematic manner
• Ensure the team are made aware of their individual duties and responsibilities and are competent to meet the project targets.
• Ensure that engineering deliverables produced by the EPIC Contractor are properly reviewed by appropriately qualified personnel within the specified time period, against agreed criteria.
• Ensure that deliverables are developed in accordance with the latest edition of company referential.
• Ensure technical responses to Contractor technical queries, derogations are responded to in a timely manner
• Ensure Commissioning activities are anticipated and interface with Operations in managed.
• Ensure attendance by competent engineering/ inspection personnel for inspections, SIT and FAT when required.
• Assist lead Commissioning Engineer with the commissioning plan through company requirements
• Liaise with interface manager and the team when required.
• Control and approve, when appropriate, the specifications, requisitions, design procedures, layouts, arrangements and cause & effect charts.
• Ensure that all relevant documentation created by the Contractor is reviewed and commented on by the relevant specialists within the appropriate time frame.
• Ensure deliverables will meet Quality Requirements and adequate Quality Surveillance is implemented.
• Provide engineering support to construction and commissioning teams until handover to Operations.
• Assist with the preparation of the pre-commissioning and commissioning/start-up activities.
• Positively represent the Company at Contractor premises, sites.
• Develop effective and constructive relationships with contractor representatives in a manner that enables a high level of value to be obtained.
• Liaise with the Project Manager on a day to day basis providing feedback on EPIC contractor design premise, construction phases, installation and testing phases.
• Attend meetings held at the offices of the UK Project as required.
• Ensure that the objectives for health safety and environment during design, construction, installation and testing of equipment are met.
• Safely deliver the facilities on time and within budget.
• Ensure that design meets Company and Group SHE rules (Maestro, Safety Management System)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree in an appropriate technical discipline, with good knowledge in Process.
• Significant project management experience (planning, cost control, contracting)
• Strong knowledge of Company, Group and statutory policies and procedures in relation to engineering, technology and project management
• Strong knowledge of oil and gas facilities design, construction and operation with offshore experience, ideally gained in the North Sea
• Ability to represent the Company both internally and externally at a management level.
• Significant engineering management experience (raising / reviewing procedures, specifications, technical reports, and management of engineering personnel).
