The Role:
1. Basic Function and Scope:

The SHE Coordinator functionally reports to the SHE Manager, ensures that the SHE goals and implementation of an Injury Incident Free (IIF) programme are consistent with Company’s policies and requirements. The successful candidate provides hands on expertise in SHE implementation management to the construction team (PMT)

2. Tasks and Duties:

a. Monitor CONTRACTORs safety performance during project execution
b. Liaise with Construction PMT representatives daily to resolve potential issues with EPC contractor compliance and performance in SHE related areas.
c. Verifies that project is meeting SHE goals and objectives by independent assessment and report to SHE Manager
d. Prepare SHE Audit Plan for the project and conduct frequent SHE Audits on CONTRACTOR and SUBCONTRACTORS
e. Ensure adequate emergency response measures are in place and are tested at regular intervals to ensure availability.
f. Compile and manage the SHE documentation in accordance with applicable standards, legislation and the contractual requirements of the project.
g. Monitor CONTRACTOR SHE Training program to ensure that the project needs are met.
h. Review CONTRACTOR SHE Management Plans
i. Conduct incident investigations (Taproot)
j. Conduct Risk Assessments and Job Safety Analysis
k. Monitor the Leading and Lagging indicators to ensure that adequate preventive/corrective actions are in place.
l. Participate in the PSSR walk down and build-up punch list items.
m. Fill in for the Project SHES Manager while he is away from site.
n. Maintains records, reports, and documents required to meet corporate and regulatory requirements

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
a. Bachelor degree Mechanical/Civil/Electrical Engineering

b. Internationally recognized SHE qualification.

c. Certified Lead Auditor for OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001

d. Hand on experience in conducting Tap Root Investigations

e. Excellent understanding of an International Safety and loss prevention standards.

f. Excellent understanding of Project Technical requirements.

g. Excellent written and verbal communication skills of English.

h. Excellent interpersonal skills

7. Experience

a. Minimum twelve (12) years’ experience in SHE site role in the oil and gas/petro chemical industry. At least 5 years in supervisory roles representing owner/client team.

b. Experience with Incident investigation (Tap Root) and Auditing is essential.

c. Experience in conducting Risk Assessment is essential.

d. Experience with international EPC contractors and vendors, in particular those involved in the construction of refining facilities.
