Their operations cover the entire energy chain, including oil exploration and production to trading, shipping and refining and marketing of petroleum products, as well as chemicals. The Role:
The primary function of the role is to provide support to onshore pipelines management on Shetland in ensuring that all project personnel and activities meet the required Safety Health and Environment standards.

In addition the SHE Team Lead shall provide leadership, advice and guidance on health, safety, and environmental issues to the onshore pipelines team with a focus on minimising risk and achieving best practice throughout the pipeline construction and commissioning works to be carried out on Shetland.

The SHE team lead will provide the link between pipeline operations in Shetland and the Laggan Tormore SHE function in Aberdeen for reporting onshore pipelines SHE performance in Shetland and propagating safety health and environmental initiatives.

The scope of the role will cover all onshore pipelines activities on Shetland, i.e. landfalls, onshore pipelines and onshore umbilical.

Activities

• Demonstrate commitment to SHE excellence through personal conduct.
• Attend principal contractor’s progress meetings
• Liaise with contractors’ SHE personnel and project team
• Provide support, innovative advice, resources and processes to the project team.
• Lead, advise support and develop the onshore pipelines SHE Team.
• Review and comment on contractor documentation, method statements and risk assessments, etc.
• Ensure principal contractor carries out audits and monitor reports
• Ensure principal contractor maintains up to date register of plant operators
• Ensure SHE team carries out spot-checks on plant, equipment and competency records
• Confirm that personnel meet individual and collective competence requirements.
• Ensure principal contractor promotes a culture of risk management throughout construction and commissioning works
• Ensure principal contractor implements strategy and processes that represent best practice and are legally compliant.

Location

• Shetland Gas Plant (SGP) Construction Site
• Rotation 3/3 schedule

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Previous experience of a supervisory SH&E role, preferably gained working within a construction environment
• Thorough knowledge of UK SHE legislation, including CDM.
• Knowledge of the pipelines industry
• Good keyboard skills and good working knowledge of microsoft/specialist software packages (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, graphics packages etc.)
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) as well as demonstrable attention to detail and accuracy
• Current driving licence
• Current UK passport
• Current medical to OGP standard
• Ability to work as part of a team with minimum supervision
• Willingness to share information and demonstrate a flexible and adaptable approach
