The Company:
The company designs, constructs, transports, installs and removes offshore facilities for the global oil and gas industry. During the last decades they have become a significant international player in the offshore oil and gas construction industry. The Group consists of two divisions, each with a specific role in the activities of the Group

The Role:
Reporting to: The QA/SHE Manager for corporate activities

Liaises with: Yard Manager/ Project Manager/ Departmental Heads/ Managers & Supervision

Directs: All onsite personnel on safety matters

Function: To identify, prevent, report and manage SHE issues

• To ensure adherence to the Company Policy and procedures
• Quality, safety, health and environment awareness (e.g. responsible for own and others safety).
• To perform tasks delegates by the QA/SHE Manager.
• To review new legislation regarding safety, health and environment for any impact on daily activities.
• To co-ordinate the monthly SHE Committee meetings.
• To advise where required, concerning Safety, Health and Environmental matters.
• To identify possible SHE problems, prevent escalation, report to the Company management and recommended possible solutions to the problems.
• To carry out SHE inductions and issue SHE handbooks.
• To coordinate the generic and task specific risk assessments.
• To arrange internal instruction and information sessions.
• To liaise with Clients Safety representative.
• To review and approve all system documentation related to his discipline.
• To Liaise with Subcontract Safety personnel and monitor on-site Subcontractors.
• To ensure that Safety, Health & Environmental procedures are maintained.
• To stimulate personnel in quality, safety, health and environmental awareness thinking by facilitating training as well as circulating Safety posters and / or other publications.
• To carry out SHE audits in accordance with an approval schedule.
• To monitor SHE performance by frequent observation rounds.
• To conduct root cause analysis and report accordingly.
• To control and administer safety-date sheets for all hazardous materials on the yard.
• To ensure that sufficient and suitable waste containers are available.
• To ensure that the contents of hazardous waste containers are checked by the approved carrier.
• To monitor the identification, storage and removal of waste products.
• To arrange transport of the containers with hazardous waste by an approved carrier.
• To keep records of all waste disposal.
• To investigate necessary corrective actions arising from eventual environmental spills.
• To take charge it the event of an emergency or accident.
• To arrange adequate training for departmental personnel.
• To perform Safety Intervention Discussion (SIDs).
• Attend SHE seminars.
• Individual risk awareness within job role.

• Unconditional authority to stop any operation/ activity which in his opinion could result in an incident and / or accident.
• Unrestricted access to departments locally to perform inspections and audits.

Competency Requirements:
• Successful SHE induction.
• Diploma in Safety Management
• Qualified in audit techniques.
• SHE experience within a heavy fabrication/ Construction environment.
• A detailed understanding of a company Quality, Safety, Health & Environmental systems, programmes & philosophies.
• Communicate in a positive manner with al company personnel.
• Planning & Organisational skills that enable the implementation of the company strategy.
