The Company:
Our client a UK based refining and marketing company, have interests in a number of facilities in the United Kingdom, employing around 1000 people throughout the UK and over 33000 worldwide. They have had their presence on Teesside for over 30 years, processing and storing crude oil ready for shipment along with being an established supplier of bulk fuels, including LPG, to the commercial, aviation and marine industries.

The Role:
Job Title: Shift Analyst x 2
Location: Seal Sands
Rate/Salary: Negotiable
Duration: Long Term On-going
Residency: UK

Work as part of the Shift Analyst team providing continuous analytical support to the Teesside Operation.


Responsibilities

• Actively support all the site safety initiatives
• Collect routine samples from all areas of the site, including water, oil, NGL and gas samples
• Perform testing of water, crude oil, NGL and gas samples as per the Laboratory schedule using a wide variety of analytical techniques including, GC, IC, UV-VIS, FTIR
• Perform SQC analyses as per the schedule to maintain quality
• Report results using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Manage routine schedule to support changing workload priorities
• As a qualified First Aider provide medical assistance in the absence of the site nurse and as part of the site emergency team
• As part of the site emergency team provide fire tender driving as directed by the site incident controller
• Assist in the annual sample point audit


Qualifications/Experience

• Legal right to live and work in the UK on a permanent basis without restrictions
• Chemistry degree preferable with a significant analytical chemistry content
• Knowledge of laboratory quality management systems
• Experience of the operation of an analytical laboratory
• Working at height
• Experience of lone working preferable
