The Company:
Our client a UK based refining and marketing company, have interests in a number of facilities in the United Kingdom, employing around 1000 people throughout the UK and over 33000 worldwide. They have had their presence on Teesside for over 30 years, processing and storing crude oil ready for shipment along with being an established supplier of bulk fuels, including LPG, to the commercial, aviation and marine industries.

The Role:
.As a member of the Operations team, to operate the Manufacturing and Storage & Transportation areas in a safe, environmentally friendly and efficient manner, adjusting and monitoring plant equipment to pre-set targets in order to maximise production.

Key Responsibilities

Optimising Plant and Process Operation
a. Responsible for the monitoring, control and operation of all equipment under their control in a safe, efficient and effective manner
b. Safe and timely preparation of equipment for start-ups, shutdowns, maintenance and re-commissioning
with a full understanding of its duty and capability
c. Maintain accurate, chronological logs and records and ensure a smooth effective fully understood shift handover
d. Full knowledge and execution of the ISSOW system
e. Maintain an up to date knowledge of all units within own area of responsibility
f. Maintain clear and effective communication channels and work within priorities set by Shift Leader
g. Help drive energy conservation / minimise environmental impact / minimise chemical and other material
waste / losses within the area and their own area of responsibility
h. Adhere to recognised work practices and procedures including implementation of improvements to practices and procedures
i. Respond to Emergency incidents as required under the guidance of incident Controller/Team Leader j. Complete all reoccurring duties in accordance with schedule and procedure
k. Report all faults and breakdowns in a timely manner utilizing SAP notification system l. Act in liaison and cooperation with all fellow operators, operations Team Leaders
m. Complete daily log sheets, shift handover logs n. Collate and analyse sample report and data
o. Identify any processing issues to the Shift Leaders

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Competency Requirements
a. NVQ level 2 in Process Plant Operation or equivalent - Desirable
b. City & Guilds in Process Plant Operation or equivalent - Desirable
c. Experience as an operator - Desirable
d. Petrochemical plant experience - Desirable
e. Knowledge of ISSOW system - Desirable
