The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
•Responsible for the development of an effective long-term Shopfloor IT Strategy to enable delivery of the Manufacturing Strategy.
•Responsible for the technical development of the most efficient, effective and flexible shopfloor IT solutions to deliver production requirements in support of sales demand. It requires the definition and project management of new developments to deliver functional objectives, ensuring effective training and skills development in support of robust and sustainable processes.
•This position requires the use of complex problem solving tools and project management methodology to specify, design, test and implement innovative solutions within defined budgetary targets.
•Provides technical consultancy to Manufacturing and other interfacing functions / customers in the conceptual theory and practical application of Shopfloor IT processes and techniques.

Shopfloor IT Strategy
•Work with the Business Planning Manager to develop the Shopfloor IT Strategy that supports both Bentley and Group strategies.
•Work with interfacing functions to develop / implement Shopfloor Strategy to ensure delivery of facilities in support of vehicle programmes.
•Work with IT department to deliver a Master Construction Plan for the Customer Order Process for the next 5 years that delivers both Bentley and Group business process and IT strategies.

Shopfloor IT Solutions
•Technical development of shopfloor IT solutions together with both internal and third party facilities resources to ensure most efficient / effective solutions are available to deliver Company requirements for volume / cost.

Shopfloor IT CIP
•Drive continuous improvement of Shopfloor IT processes and systems through project delivery, to support:
•Maintenance and improvement of the systems to ensure compliance with IT security and resilience of the systems.
•Improvement of Reporting Systems to meeting customer needs.
•To ensure process compliance with TS16949.

Technical Advancement
•Support activity for assessment / selection of new innovative concepts into the Shopfloor IT process to create competitive advantage; adoption of mobile technologies, Greater resilience of Systems and IT Security

• Support cross functional teams working with IS to develop:
o Systems network architectures and hardware solutions which support the Shopfloor IT strategy
o Service and maintenance contracts which ensure minimum downtime of the production facilities

Accountable for:
IT Prioritisation Board projects:
- Investment
- Overhead

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience of complex problem solving and project management skills

• Demonstrate experience in delivering Shopfloor IT solutions within the manufacturing sector

• Strong influencing and communication skills

• Ability to construct and present a business case for continuous improvement projects up to senior management level

• Ability to benchmark and seek out best practice and apply if appropriate

• Wide ranging experience of liaising with suppliers and customers to work in partnership to deliver “win-win” solutions
