The Company:
With interests in over 20 UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) fields, my Client has one of the most significant exploration and production businesses in the offshore waters of the UK.

The Role:
Position Summary
Has responsibility for the delivery of the shutdown preparation and execution activities through the successful delivery of the Select, Define and Execute phases of the VAF process.

The Shutdown Coordinator is the focal point for communications with the Shutdown Manager in relation to all shutdown related matters and utilises VAF ensuring that each stage of VAF has been adequately closed out prior to applying to the Shutdown Manager to move onto the next stage of the process.

The Shutdown Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all preparation activities have been completed in line with the preparation plan including work packs, certification, materials, vendors, equipment, tools, services, planning etc and that the Shutdown Preparation Tracker is 100% complete prior to the commencement of the shutdown and will lead the shutdown planning meetings provide guidance on relative job priorities during the shutdown to allow for optimum bedding planning and mobilization of resources.

The Shutdown Coordinator is accountable for the preparation and delivery of shutdown execution plans and, when necessary, shutdown work scopes in a safe manner against agreed budgets.

Key accountabilities include:

HSSE

Responsible for executing every shutdown incident free.
Engender a culture of continuous HSSE performance improvements.
Ensure Assets fully comply with HSSE practices.

Interface

Onshore/offshore shutdown planning and preparation interface.
Interface with contractors, to ensure that they are sufficiently prepared for the shutdown and that decisions made by the contractor have been approved.

Communications

Weekly update of progress to the Shutdown Manager.
Prepare & lead shutdown process gate approval meetings.
Participate in all shutdown governance meetings and reviews.
Lead onshore Shutdown Preparation meetings.
Participate in the daily shutdown onshore /offshore meetings.
Regular offshore visits to ensure alignment between onshore and offshore
Process

Ensure a shutdown is planned and implemented in accordance with the shutdown processes.
Ensure all shutdown participants are fully aware of and competent in its use.

Planning

Manage priorities during the shutdown, effectively managing competing operational and project interests and ensuring resources and bedding plans are fully optimised.

Performance Management

Measurement of shutdown performance against robust plans and improvement programmes. Working collaboratively, identifies and participates in interventions to improve performance.
Carry out effective lessons learned post shutdown execution.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Experienced professional with operational background, demonstrated through solid working knowledge.
• Have fundamental understanding of operations principles and processes and has ability to oversee their implementation and long-term effective management.
• Knowledge and experience in the application of UKCS regulations
• A Degree, HND or equivalent in a technical discipline
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent preferred
• Experience in offshore operations and maintenance.
• Experience in the coordination of shutdowns either onshore or offshore.
• Demonstrate safety leadership and promote a safety culture amongst all personnel.
• Implementation of remedial actions to sustain/improve shutdowns.
• Familiarity and understanding of North Sea operations.
• Proven ability to rigorously apply an effective process to a business critical area.
