The Company:
Our Client is the Operator of one of the largest remaining gas fields with estimated reserves of about 3tcf, to be produced during a 30 year lifespan, will meet about 8% of the country's gas requirements.

The Role:
Responsibilities/essential functions of the job

•Provide Instrument Onshore technical support to the Offshore company Platform to facilitate safe and effective maintenance and repair activities, ensuring availability of critical equipment.
•Provide first line performance and condition monitoring support of Instrumentation and Controls systems and equipment.
•Ensure that Instrument equipment and associated system performance are capable of meeting business need.
•Audit maintenance activities to ensure compliance with company standards.
•Ensure that the Safety performance of the platform is improving through assisting in the effective solution of Corrective Action requests.
•Provide operational and specialist Instrument Engineering, control and safety system support to modification or study teams or projects.
•Provide discipline support to the review and amendment of Planned Maintenance Routines and Strategies within the SAP CMMS where required.
•Budget holder and responsibility for cost management within delegated portion of OPEX and also for 3rd party operational support services.
•Identify opportunities to improve efficiency of all activities, improve equipment reliability, and reduce operating costs.
•Provide onshore discipline support to Maintenance Planning in accordance with the Integrated Activity Planning Process.
•Maintain Instrument and Control specifications, standards and procedures.
•Support Alarm reduction and rationalisation activities.
•Provide first line support on all Fire & Gas devices and Control Valve Assembly (Valve and Actuator).
•Provide recommendations for critical spares and optimise asset inventory.
•Provide solutions to Technical queries as per comapny Management of Change process.
•Engage and participate in any operational improvement process to optimise instrument and controls engineering.
•Proactive management of all safety and business critical maintenance backlog and ensure all Safety Critical Element (SCE) maintenance is completed within compliance windows.
•Ensure vendor support is effectively and efficiently utilised and that all activities are executed within both the scope and the terms and conditions of any contractual agreement. Identifies potential opportunities for new contractual requirements.
•Assist with the resolution of operational problems, including participation in and close-out of incident investigations and equipment failure root cause analysis.
•Make regular trips offshore to enhance collaboration.
•Commits to creating a safe work environment by following company Concept of care and company Incident Free Operation Rules at all times. Raises safety and environmental issues immediately and in line with company policy.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Degree qualified.
•Ability to work as a member of a team and communicate effectively with onshore and offshore staff at all levels.
•Demonstrate skills in Instrument and Control engineering problem solving.
•Good working knowledge of Distributed Control Systems.
•Demonstrate an understanding of engineering modification process particularly safety review process, SIL, HAZOP, LOPA etc.
•Considerable relevant experience of the oil and gas industry, predominantly gained in a production operations environment.
•Good working knowledge and application of relevant UK oil and gas industry regulations.
•Proven ability of being a budget holder and performing cost management.
•Proven ability at supporting effective maintenance activity planning.
•Competence in using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
