The Company:
Our client is a major UK operator with significant assets and interests globally. We are looking to recruit a Shutdown/Turnaround Specialist with operational experience for a staff role based in the South East, UK

The Role:
Technical Authority for asset Shutdowns/Turnarounds, ensuring operational peer reviews and challenges to the shutdowns / turnarounds being planned and undertaken and to drive improvement processes and assist in the impact management of shutdowns to the long term business planning.

The Shutdown/Turnaround Specialist will be required to:

• Recognise shutdown needs and ensure all Shutdown Managers or Coordinators are conversant with the relevant standards and guidelines.
• Set the annual functional review programme based on the historical performance of the assets capability to manage shutdowns.
• Lead shutdown reviews and recording and tracking actions raised to facilitate After Action Reviews to develop Lessons Learned for shutdowns.
• Collate and share all lessons learnt with Assets at reviews to allow consideration to prevent future occurrences.
• Ensure that assets have the latest technology to reduce the safety risks and to increase productivity during shutdowns.
• Develop & maintain metrics clearly linking preparation performance and shutdown delivery.
• Providing specialist day to day operational or shutdown technical support to tackle key shutdown issues.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree qualified or equivalent level and should preferably be a Chartered Engineer.
• Experienced in operating offshore Oil or Gas producing facilities and onshore Oil and Gas processing terminals.
• Experience of managing major shutdowns.
• Demonstrable commitment to HSE performance and awareness of specific operational/shutdown issues.
• Knowledge of Design, Planning, Construction, Operations & Maintenance issues relating to offshore and onshore Oil and Gas installations.
• Knowledge of Asset Integrity, Emergency Response Processes, Information Systems

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Proven track record of leading multi-discipline teams to meet targets on time and within budget.
• Experience of working in a number of E&P, LNG or Power companies in a number of countries.
• Understanding of cultural differences and their effects on Operational or Shutdown strategies.
