A global Oil & Gas operator with extensive operations in the Caspian Region.

The Role:
KEY ROLES:
• On site Site Safety Leader
• Responsible for overseeing the onsite major river crossing construction activities by the contractor(s).
• Ensure that the project is being executed according to the project plans, specifications & requirements.
• Accountable in the field for assuring the execution of the major river crossing works in accordance with HSS E&S and quality requirements by the pipeline contractor.
• Interface with the tunnelling subcontractor during their construction activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES:
This position requires experience in the role of onsite construction field representative for Micro Tunnelling with the ability to recognise & communicate any corrective actions regarding daily production or HSS and E&S field issues associated with the contractor’s/subcontractor’s construction activities. The site representative is required to:
• Ensure on-site safety awareness and safe performance with the contractors’ field crews and site management.
• Actively engage with the PL & Micro Tunnelling construction/installation crews.
• Serve as the day-to-day interface with the contractors’ in-field management & labour force.
• Provide oversight in the field of the contractor’s ability to manage their activities to ensure compliance with the contract.
• Provide support to the mechanical completion of the pipeline installation process.
• Champion on-site work safety programs & participate in the tool box safety meetings.
• Ensure good lines of open communication & relationships with the contractor’s field management team.
• Monitor environmental compliance & permits.
• Participate in the oversight and on-site inspection of all construction equipment & materials.
• Participate in the weekly construction progress meetings with the PMT & PL and contractors.
• Act as liaison with other parties within the company.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum of 15 years experience in tunnel construction projects including micro tunnelling/pipe jacking operations.
• Experience of working internationally & living in a field camp environment.
• Experience with International tunnelling construction standards as associated with installation activities.
• Experience of the management of and the control of work under hyperbaric conditions.
• Familiar with work permits & control of work systems.
• Familiar with cross country buried pipeline construction
• Familiar with pipe handling, pipeline welding methods, coating, hydro testing, pigging & pipe laying.
