The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their ongoing oil sands mega-projects in Alberta.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
The Site Contracts Coordinator is responsible to act as the Company Representative providing support, consultation, oversight and leadership supervision of the EPC Contractor.

This is a site-based role near Fort McMurray, Alberta. Rotation is 5 weeks in (camp accommodation), 3 weeks out (return to point-of-origin).

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible to perform contract management activities in accordance with the agreed RASCI
• Aligns / works closely with Construction (or Business Services) , Calgary Contracts Administrator and Company PMT to ensure the Contractor performs all the requirements per the Contract.
• These duties include but not limited to :
o Attend pre-construction kickoff meetings.
o Establish and maintain the master site contract files of record as required.
o Review and coordinate the approval of all Contractor required submittals such as HSE and QA/QC plans and other documents as required by Company Coordination Procedures.
o Support and attend weekly progress review meetings.
o Ensure timely responses to contractor Requests for Information (RFI) by Field Engineering.
o Coordinate and document all site communications with Contractor and ensure such documentation is properly signed and maintained.
o Ensure that all Contractor required site reports are submitted in a timely and correct manner, and format.
o Identify contract changes as soon as possible and determine how best to address them.
o Issue Potential Change Alerts in support of contract cost forecasting.
o Support and ensure that all changes are properly approved and documented.
o Coordinate contractor back-charges and process them as appropriate.
o Coordinate an effective claims avoidance, prevention and management program.
o In the event of a Contractor Claim, responsible to support a claims team to perform a comprehensive analysis and settlement recommendation and negotiate final resolution. Support litigation efforts if necessary.
o Support monthly Contractor invoices and coordinate required approvals.
o Support contract completion and acceptance process.
o Support transfer of Care, Custody and Control.
o Support contract closeout activities.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• University qualification(s)
• Minimum of 7 years in a similar role supporting major projects in oil/gas, oil sands and/or mining sectors
