The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, seeks expertise for offshore mega-projects in Canada.

This opportunity is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. First consideration will be given to residents of Newfoundland & Labrador.

The Role:
The Cost Engineer coordinates for the Project all aspects of cost control and reporting, including estimate development, forecast/trend development, cost control and progress measurement.

• Support PMT and Cost Stewards with ongoing project cost analysis, reporting, forecasting, budgeting and Change Management.
• Analyze cost trends, develop and review cost forecasts
• Prepare monthly cost reports (budgets, forecasts, expenditures, commitments)
• Maintain ongoing cost vulnerability/cost reduction opportunities database
• Review Contractor’s Stewardship Report for actual invoice bookings
• Review Contractor’s estimates of Work-In-Place (WIP) for EM and 3rd-party costs
• Review Contractor’s expenditure and commitment forecasts
• Review Contractor’s Control Estimates, and Budgets (annual and multi-year), and ensuring that these products reflect the approved project design/execution scope
• Monitor and report on cost implications of changes
• Participate in contract commercial bid evaluations (as required)
• Interface with Controllers regarding AFEs/budgets and invoices
• Support contractor closeout of cost codes, invoicing, and contracts
• Respond to ad hoc requests from PMT related to Controls/Reporting

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business Administration with relevant experience
• 5+ years of project controls experience focused on cost control and some schedule control achievements
• Upstream / Offshore Engineering, Procurement, and Construction experience
• Willing to relocate to required project site
• Strong Influencing, Consulting, Mentoring, Analytical, and Computing skills
• Adaptability to changing priorities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and respond quickly to urgent analysis requests
