The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their ongoing oil sands mega-projects in Alberta.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
Ensure project documentation compliance with the documented standards and procedures. This position involves quality checking documentation, ensuring that documents are categorized, managed and stored correctly as well as coordinating with the different departments and contractors to ensure that documents are accessible to all project stakeholders. This role involves working to deadlines and ensuring that all departments of the organization are following the same procedures with regards to documents. Provide document control/management support to the project team and any other tasks as directed.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide document control support to all Site Stakeholders including Operations and Construction Contractors in accordance with business processes
• Point of contact for all Site external and internal requests for documentation, providing document control support to Operations and Construction Contractors
• Work with Calgary office to process day to day project documentation while maintaining processes in line with Company requirements for the maintenance, control, location and distribution of key documents
• Receive, log, distribute, return document deliverables to and from all contractors (engineering and construction) as per processes in place
• Responsible for copying, quality checking and issuing project related documentation
• Issue and track completion Construction Work Packages (CWPs) sent to Construction Contractors
• Monitor the document control inbox(s) and process requests in a timely manner
• Manage all site documentation
• Manage and control multiple flows of information
• Ensure that audit trails are maintained and all documents can be traced
• Ability to work independently and suggest improvements where appropriate
• Review work aids and provide feedback for continuous improvement
• Assist with training as required
• At Site reports to Business Lead and takes day to day direction from Project Lead
• Other duties as required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Attention to detail, highly organized, proactive, problem solving skills, ability to multi-task as well as being flexible and proactive.
• Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel and Adobe Acrobat Professional
• Ability to monitor and evaluate systems and to look for improvements
• Superior command of English language both written and oral
• An understanding of the organization’s business matters is crucial so as to be able to identify and control documents effectively
• Knowledge of engineering technical terminology and supplier/vendor documentation
• Experience in Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) such as DM, FileNET,
Documentum, etc. would be an asset
• Familiar with effective filing
• Three to five years of technical document control experience preferably in the Oil and Gas
