Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.
"Working within the Global Facilities Engineering function of Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering, the Construction Management team are responsible for supporting the Manufacturing Engineering teams in the development of all new construction projects and modifications associated with new engine facilities and engineering updates worldwide. Particular emphasis will be placed on the following responsibilities:
Undertake desktop studies and site investigations for prospective projects, utilising in-house or external specialists where appropriate to enable the evaluation of alternative economic solutions and support project justification. Manage Contractors in strict accordance with the Control of Contractors procedures. Perform the role of Principal Designer on behalf of the Design & Construction function ensuring that all duties are discharged on behalf of the project team. "
3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
1. Ø Inspecting and approving construction workmanship, materials and products to ensure that the quality requirements of the contract documentation and Finishes standards are achieved.
2. Ø Liaising with the Employers Agent, Design Team and Principal Contractor to undertake joint inspections and witnessing (where required).
3. Ø Management of the snagging and handover process through proposing / discussing any remedial actions required with the Project Team.
Experience Required: "Has proven experience in the Project Management of Construction and facility modifications from the development of initial concept designs through to construction handover. Has proven experience in the delivery of the Construction Design & Management Regulation (CDM Regulations). Candidate must have a record of proactive delivery and commitment to meeting deadlines including previous projects and budgetary management experience. The ability to work as part of a team is essential, as is the ability to achieve results by meeting deliverables / commitments required by the role of Principal Designer. Educated to Degree level in a Civil Engineering or equivalent construction discipline "
Experience Preferred: Previous experience of AutoCAD and 3D modelling competence is preferable.
Additional Information: "Management of the approvals for technical inspections / surveillances in accordance with the Standards, demonstrating the required level of quality has been delivered . Inspecting and compiling reports on BIM 360 Field for snags and latent defects, including user issues raised Acting as a mentor to the less experienced members of Project Teams, educating them on BIM 360 Field, technical specifications/details, inspections, levels of workmanship, etc. Review and approve subcontractors / suppliers quality management procedures and documentation, on behalf of the Project Teams. Investigate quality non-conformities, and manage the close out of any associated corrective actions. Identify, record and communicate lessons learnt and best practice relating to Safety & Quality. Assisting Project Teams in delivering defect and incident free projects. "
