The Role:
The role of the Site Instrument Engineer is to provide assurance of contractor’s Instrument construction & commissioning activities during construction of both the temporary and permanent facilities.
Responsibilities
• The Instrument engineer is expected to display HSSE leadership promote Project HSSE expectations, behaviours and working practices with vendors and CONTRACTORS personnel.
• Be familiar with all aspects of construction, mechanical completion, commissioning and system handover processes for Instrumentation.
• Show literacy in reading of engineering drawings including P&IDs, Loop Drawings, Hook Ups, single line diagrams and schematic diagrams.
• Provide regular communication of system status, schedule issues, quality issues, etc to the Completions team Leader.
• Familiarise oneself with construction scope. Identify opportunities for early mechanical completion of sub-systems and drive contractor to completion
• Assure rigorous implementation of approved construction method statements by attendance at QC inspections as driven by the approved Inspection & Test Plans.
• Assure rigorous implementation of approved commissioning procedures, with a particular focus on software verification and testing procedures on Yokogawa Centum/Prosafe-RS control and safety systems.
• Display good knowledge and be certified/trained in Compex requirements for equipment installed in hazardous areas, having experience in completing inspections/surveys and compiling documentation.
• Be familiar with processes for energisation of systems and provide rigorous assurance of implementation.
• Ensure that preservation and maintenance on instrument equipment is correctly identified and is being carried out in accordance with relevant procedures.
• Be familiar with project completions systems and ‘as building’ of engineering documentation.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
 10+ years experience in oil, gas or petrochemical industry
 Experience confirmed in the installation of E&I equipment and systems.
 Degree in engineering discipline / or significant practical field experience.
 Knowledge of applicable codes, standards and their use
