The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operator and one of the country's largest oil and natural gas production and exploration companies. Headquartered in Calgary, our client is a top producer of natural gas with oil sands interests near Fort McMurray, Alberta.

The Role:
Reporting to the Procurement Team Lead - Facilities Engineering and Construction, the Site Materials Lead is accountable for the effective oversight and administration for assigned Materials and Logistics Supply Chain activities in supporting efficient supply of capital materials and services for New Facilities, Engineering and Construction Services. The select candidate will support forecasting and effective supplier and contracting strategies and management with key vendors. The successful Site Materials Lead will need to be aligned with quick tie in processes and able to react to program changes and peak activity periods.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Coordinating with Engineering, the successful applicant will be responsible and accountable for the management of all warehousing and logistics aspects of the project on site.
* Overseeing EPC logistics and site/field materials, consumables and tools.
* Analyzing warehousing costs and management.
* Troubleshooting job conditions, purchasing, warehousing, taxes and material contracts.
* Ensuring with engineering that material received is the material ordered, inspected for damage and meets the specifications of the contract.
* Supervising and raining the procurement and warehouse management staff.
* Ensuring documentation is complete supporting subcontracts, material contracts, and purchase orders

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* 10 years of materials management/purchasing experience with an engineering, construction or related industry
* Requires strong organizational and written and verbal communication skills
* Knowledge of engineered equipment procurement common in the industry
* Must be able to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done
* Candidates must possess strong work ethic; good interpersonal skills; demonstrate good organization, verbal and written communication skills
* Candidates must be a team player and able to act independently with little or no supervision
* Demonstrates effectiveness in understanding and controlling construction costs

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or similar is an asset
* Experience with purchasing software is an asset
