The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their ongoing oil sands mega-projects in Alberta.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
This position will join in Calgary for 2-3 weeks of orientation and then be based at Site near Fort McMurray on rotational basis for the remainder of the project.

The Lead Planner is responsible for oversight of plans/schedules, statusing and implementation of project controls systems for on-going brown field projects and expansions to oil sands mining productions.

• Line responsible for executing planning in compliance with the Project Management System.
• Monitor activities consistent with plans for Full Funding Plans and make required corrective adjustments
• Assess Management of Change impact as required.
• Monitor and control the Project to agreed plans and processes.
• Interface with engineering, execution, Controllers and other Business Services related functions such as Procurement, Controls and Document Control.

• Basic to Competent proficiency in most Construction and Development Planning skill areas.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• B.Sc. in Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years experience in a variety of project management positions (see Skill Areas).
• Extensive knowledge of Primavera P6.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of word processing and data management systems, e.g., Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
