A major, international oil and gas company

The Role:
The primary role of the Site Piping/Mechanical Engineer is to provide assurance of contractor’s Piping and pipeline activities during construction of both the temporary and permanent facilities and pipelines. The role shall also provide assurance of aspects of mechanical discipline construction activities in support of the Site Mechanical Engineer.
• Report weekly follow-up reports and progress;
• In particular to ensure that the Project HSSE Policy, no accidents, no harm to people and no damage to the environment is strictly observed;
• Review and approval of contractor documentation, including method statement, fabrication drawings and other technical documentation that may be relevant to a particular scope of work
• Follow up of Contractors inspection and test plans (ITP)
• Follow up of Contractors Audit plans
• Follow up of contractors physical work in field to secure quality standard according to project requirements
• Be familiar with all aspects of project piping and pipelines scope and also static and rotating mechanical equipment
• Ensure that preservation and maintenance on piping and pipelines is correctly identified and is being carried out
• Participate in punch list sub-system walk down at MC, for sub-systems with piping or pipeline content.
• Ensure safety critical mechanical equipment meets the performance standards defined
• Provide technical support to Completions Team Leader and Site Manager as required by reviewing system handover packs, prior to approval.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
 10+ years experience in oil, gas or petrochemical industry
 Experience confirmed in the installation of mechanical equipment and systems.
 Knowledge of applicable codes, standards and their use
 Degree in engineering discipline (min HNC)
