The Role:
The Site Planner will play a key role in supporting the construction site management team with planning & scheduling oversight, assurance, and analysis. The position will be site based (Block 61) but there may be a requirement to spend time at home offices in Muscat, Oman or Sharjah, UAE.

Role:
• Responsible for undertaking periodic audits of contractor’s planning progress measurement processes & systems; ensure that necessary project control standards, procedures and work instructions are used.
• Provide the Project Services Manager/ Site Manager with daily, weekly, and monthly progress updates/reports, forecast completions, together with critical path and trend analyses.
• Co-ordinate input from subcontractor planning functions and/or contractors to maintain an integrated master control schedule for the project including providing the Project Service Manager with the list of plans to execute the project, and the hierarchy of these plans.
• Proactively interact with the project team(s) to secure updated plans for all work executed by the Project / contractor teams; create and issue the schedules in Primavera P6 and/or other software applications as required and keep these updated.
Scope:
• Implementing site planning & scheduling support. Coordinating with contractors, project (construction, PSCM) teams, cost engineer, commissioning to integrate cost and progress updates.
• Site Planner supports project services team lead to provide planning & scheduling support to the project manager & site manager.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate with subcontractors to provide daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and schedule updates.
• Provide assurance that subcontractor’s data, processes, and systems are accurate and auditable.
• Track & forecast installed commodities.
• Track & forecast site manpower and ensure forecasted demand aligns with available capacity.
• Participate in the site instruction/change order process.
• Support validation of contractor progress payment applications and recommended payments.
• Validate recommendations for invoice payments (per established progress).
• Assist cost engineering with Value of Work Done (VOWD) calculation.
• Prepare reports for Project Management and others as required.
• Ensure critical path is clearly and accurately identified in the level 4 construction schedule and is being reported and understood by site management.
• Ensure level 4 construction schedule is aligned with level 3 master control schedule.
• Coordinate with Commissioning Planner to provide input and alignment between construction & commissioning schedules.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• A minimum of a bachelor degree in a technical or related discipline.
• A minimum of 7 years major oil & gas project experience.
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience associated with planning & scheduling. Ideally possesses experience working on site locations with discipline construction contractors.
• Membership of a relevant professional body
