The Company:
A global Oil & Gas operator with extensive operations in the Caspian Region.

The Role:
Rotation: 6/2
Location: Azerbaijan (field camp conditions)

The position requires extensive previous experience on cross country, buried pipeline projects involving major large diameter linepipe installations, including the construction of block valve stations, launcher & receiver support facilities with the ability to support & coordinate with the pipeline contractor the construction aspects of the ongoing associated pipeline facility site support work. The position requires previous experience working directly for client/operator

Key roles:

• Interface with the contractor construction groups & subcontractor speciality groups coordinating their at-site pipeline support activities & responsibilities
• Ensure works are undertaken in accordance with the contract construction requirements, per the agreed plans, procedures and specifications
• Responsible for overseeing the on-site pipeline preparation & construction activities
• Participate in the responsibilities for assuring the field HSSE & quality requirements are met

Responsibilities to include:

• Assist and support the Pipeline Construction Manager to achieve his contract objectives
• Ensure on-site safety awareness & safe performance with the contractor field crews
• Promote the Quality Policy & Objectives and ensure their compliance
• Demonstrate HSE participation by actively engaging with the site team and the construction contractor that would contribute to delivering on HSE expectations
• Review the Contractor’s Plans, Procedures and Method Statements to ensure that the pipeline construction of supporting facilities requirements are adhered to.
• Participate in weekly construction progress meetings with the PM team & PL contractors
• Skilled in contractor interfacing on pipeline technical & construction issues
• Monitor the environmental and social compliance agreements
• Ensure that regular site construction meetings are held and that the construction requirements are fully undertaken.
• Participate in the decision processes relating to the disposition of deviations and concessions to specification and codes requested by contractor.
• Monitoring the contractor’s supporting field resources & equipment, addressing any deficiencies to the contractor for quick resolution
• Interface with the Handover and Commissioning Teams to ensure the handover quality of the documentation.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum of 15 years of field pipeline supervision experience in the Oil & Gas industry overseeing the installation of supporting facilities installations
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience involving the process for the preparation & installation of buried cross country large diameter linepipe, including the construction of block valve AGI’s & launcher/receiver support facilities.
• Experience in working & living in remote camp site environments
• Experience working in Azerbaijan, The Republic of Georgia and/or the Former Soviet Union
• Experience involving the installation of International pipeline projects
• Experience & knowledge involving the installation of linepipe under the Permit to Work & Control of Work systems

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Ability to perform effectively in a team environment, inclusive of demonstrating collaborative, cooperative, flexible, adaptable, respectful, and tactful personal characteristics
Familiarity with International Standards which form the basis for project PL specifications
• Confident and energetic approach to addressing all construction & technical issues
• Good inter-personal skills & being a team player
• Excellent work and personal ethics that include trustworthiness, commitment, and empathy
• English speaking & proficient in the ability to produce quality written reports in English
• Proficient in understanding pipeline construction drawings & specifications
