The Company:
A Major oil and Gas Operator

The Role:
• Deliver properly installed, fully tested Pipeline Systems to the required Client's, HSE and Quality Standards.
• Continuously monitor Contractors activities with respect to HSE, compliance with designated pipelay parameters, quality and reporting standards for all pipelay and marine operations.
• Ensure that the contractor, his staff and his subcontractors receive adequate instructions, familiarisation and training in BP requirements, regulations, procedures and any special or unusual hazards
• Be knowledgeable of Worksite hazards, communications, local working practices, logistics and emergency procedures
• Ensure that formal risk assessments have been conducted for each stage of the work, and the risk reducing measures identified in HAZIDs and procedures as implemented before work tasks commence
• Ensure that Management of Change procedures are implemented
• Ensure that Contractor’s work is accomplished within budget to agreed quality standards and comply with established schedules.
• Develop a site manual identifying procedures and guidelines on how the laybarge Project Site Team shall execute their work.
• Review and prepare clarification responses to technical and commercial queries from Pipeline Installation Contractor related to pipeline installation activities.
• Review Contractor’s procedures/work method statements, plans and schedules for pipelaying activities, to ensure compliance with contract requirements, specifications and standards.
• Ensure the Site Team executes their work in accordance with established Project procedures, HSE requirements and guidelines.
• Ensure that Site Queries, Non Conformances and requests for Change Orders/Variations are promptly responded to and integrated into the Project Control system.
• Ensure a high standard of communication/liaison is maintained with pipelay Contractor and promptly report any areas of concern.
• Ensure proper reporting of all activities from the pipelaying operations to the Project offices.
• Ensure “As Built” documentation is being prepared and compiled in a manner, which shall comply with contractual requirements.
• Other duties as assigned, related to landfall preparation, air and saturated diving work and crossing preparations.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• HNC or similar technical and / or marine officer qualifications
• Minimum of 10 years offshore experience with particular emphasis on construction of pipelines and have a good working knowledge of all aspects of diving, subsea construction and beach pulls.

Skill Requirements /Personal Attributes:
• Familiar with international construction techniques and workforces in the subsea industry.
• Results oriented related to health, safety, and environmental and commercial issues.
• Self motivated leader / team builder.
• Computer literate.
• Good communicator. Both written and oral.
• Tactful and persuasive
• A Team Player
