The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
The role of SME Pipelines sits within the Engineering Team providing technical support and assurance activities to the Company LNG project and Asset, ensuring delivery of pipelines and associated infrastructure which are designed, constructed, installed, operated and maintained in accordance with Company and recognised industry and regulatory standards.

This shall be achieved by
• Managing the performance of engineering, construction, commissioning and operations activities relating to the LNG export pipeline infrastructure and associated gathering network and trunklines
• Providing technical and pipeline engineering management support to existing Domestic workscopes currently being executed within the Asset organisation
• Providing a focal point for the pipeline systems to ensure Company engagement with the wider Group, industry bodies and technology providers in all areas of pipeline network design and operation

The role covers all stages and elements of the project cycle including, design, construction, installation, commissioning, and start-up of the current pipeline network as well as leading technical input to future expansion activities. In addition, supporting existing Asset operations as the leading authority in Pipelines Engineering shall be an important aspect of the role.

The role will include provision of technical assurance support to the project as a whole as well as providing organisation-wide leadership in pipeline engineering and network systems through all stages of the project lifecycle.

• Develop and maintain detailed systems knowledge of all Company pipeline systems networks and associated gathering infrastructure through design, fabrication, construction and operational phases
• Provide technical and engineering management support and advice to the Company LNG project in relation to pipeline design, construction, commissioning and operations activities
• Complete technical assurance activities necessary to demonstrate that the pipeline system design meets the approved technical and commercial performance criteria and stakeholders requirements
• Engage with delivery teams to ensure the Define, Execute and Operations stages of the project and their interfaces are managed and executed effectively
• Provide support to the Engineering Quality Team to drive the assurance process and ensure the Value Assurance Framework is being executed in accordance with the Group Way principles
• Lead the development of a robust pipeline infrastructure system which accommodates future field expansion activities
• Identify critical areas of exposure in the successful delivery of the gathering and pipeline network workscope and ensure plans to mitigate risks are developed and executed accordingly
• Assist in the development and quality checks of the BoD and supporting philosophies after its approval. Contribute to the Management of Change process in terms of engineering reviews, changes and potential changes
• Track and ensure closure of all Functional Review actions related to controls system infrastructure
• Provide focal point for technology development in relation to pipeline systems and engage with technology providers to ensure the Company’s interests are represented as appropriate
• Ensure that suitable Peer Assists, Peer Reviews and Value Engineering Workshops are executed and actions completed accordingly

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualifications in engineering or relevant experience
• Chartered member of a relevant engineering institution (preferred)
• Has extensive experience in the area of pipeline design and operation but not necessarily solely in an engineering or assurance function.
• Exposure to Systems Engineering processes.
• Technical professional with wide exposure to diverse technical and business environments
• Verifiable record in the successful development and delivery of a number of complex hydrocarbon or infrastructure projects
• Experience of project life cycle from concept development through to execution
• Experience in the application of national and industry codes and standards
• Quality control of contractor technical work, ensuring appropriate techniques and standards are applied and opportunities for technical and business improvement realised

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience of identifying project critical success factors and risks, and in developing and implementing plans to manage these
• Proven record in the application of Company and functional assurance processes or equivalent
• Proven record of having incorporated appropriate regulatory, safety & environmental consents into the design processes
• Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of business awareness, key project performance drivers, operational requirements, and of financial and commercial aspects of project delivery
• Ability to manage and lead the interface with a wide range of disciplines including Operations, Commercial, Economics as well as the usual Project Engineering functions
• Strong and effective communication skills (written and oral) supported by interpersonal skills that allow working at a senior level within the Company, with Contractors or other stakeholders
