The Role:
An excellent opportunity exists for a Senior Mechanical Engineer in our clients Australian production unit. The successful candidate will have a background in the upstream petroleum industry with demonstrated experience in mechanical engineering techniques and procedures and their integration with overall operations.

Based in the Perth Office, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will interface with Surface Engineering, Operations personnel, HSE personnel, Central Engineering, Class Society and regulatory authorities, ensuring engineering excellence for mechanical systems associated with all Australia Production Unit operation facilities as well as adherence to corporate standards, policies, and guidelines.

The role requires a detailed understanding of the design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of various systems associated with onshore and offshore production facilities. Encompassing the follwing responsibilities

•Supporting a Zero Harm workplace and making exemplary HSE performance your first priority
•Regular surveillance and reporting of mechanical equipment (including marine equipment) to intervene in potential issues, provide troubleshooting support and maintain a high level of safety and performance
•Maintaining the day-to-day operability of mechanical facilities
•Condition monitoring and troubleshooting of rotating equipment (compressors, pumps) to ensure high reliability and availability.
•Provide quality control and assurance to maintain asset integrity for mechanical related modifications and projects
•Conduct technical reviews and system audits and reporting of results
•Management of mechanical engineering support contractors as required
•Coordination/ communication with a wide range of both company and contractor personnel
•Mentor less-experienced mechanical engineers

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
A Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering is essential.

•Piping systems, valves and other inline equipment
•Static equipment including pressure vessels and heat exchangers
•Rotating equipment including gas turbines, centrif & recip compressors and process pumps
•Maintenance systems
•Codes and standards applicable to mechanical equipment in the upstream oil and gas industry

Experience with marine systems including propulsion, hydraulics and Class compliance are not essential however are highly regarded.
