Job Purpose:

• Become a key member of the client’s LNG Coordination Group, based in London, that has the responsibility for enhancing and deploying LNG expertise and know-how across the LNG value chain – from commercial initiation through, concept engineering, project delivery to operations - in support the client’s rapidly expanding gas asset portfolio.
• The client has seven LNG ventures currently in production (production share = 11 BCM/yr) and, following sustained exploration success, further world scale LNG project development opportunities in Mozambique, Indonesia, Australia, West Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean.
• The candidate should have experience across all phases of oil & gas/LNG industry projects, from opportunity initiation, through concept definition, FEED, EPC and into operations. They will be able to skillfully provide expert advice and guidance through interacting with, and influencing, people at all levels

ROLE DEFINITION
Main Responsibilities
• Provide expert project management advice and guidance to client asset and project teams throughout the lifecycle of FLNG projects and across the asset portfolio.
• Establish, develop and maintain the LNG Coordination Group’s FLNG competency as part of the LNG Professional family

Key Activities
• Support client asset and project teams and establish and implement the necessary project management requirements and systems through all stages of FLNG related projects – from concept to operations
• Monitor the performance of FLNG projects through formal reporting mechanisms and establishing, with the Project Management Team, for project assurance and peer reviews activities
• Participate in assurance reviews and project peer reviews with client teams and external parties (such as JV partners and contractors) including value improvement and lessons learned workshops
• Manage front end opportunity screening & conceptual selection activities for FLNG related projects on behalf of client assets
• Undertake project management secondments into client project teams progressing FLNG related projects
• Participate as client representative on shareholder Technical Committees (TeCom) for non-operated assets
• Establish company-wide working practices and procedures to assist client asset and project teams identify and manage FLNG related project activities
• Liaise with other client functions/professional areas to enhance working practices and associated project management documentation/best practices.
• Participate in LNG related training courses and at Industry seminars to promote client’s LNG knowledge and expertise

• Head of LNG Project Performance

Main Internal Interfaces:
• LNG Coordination Group
• Client Asset & Project teams
• Other client corporate functions (exploration, development, HR, HSE, legal, procurement, commercial, etc.)

Main External Interfaces:
• JV Partners
• EPC Contractors

EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCES

Required Experience:
• 15+ years experience in the oil & gas industry across all project phases – from concept through to handover to operations; including
• 10+ years experience in project management/project engineering of oil & gas/LNG projects
• Minimum 3 years FLNG project experience (front end & EPC).
• Experienced in oil & gas/LNG industry project management and contract management techniques

Required Knowledge, Technical or Professional Skills:
• LNG value chain integration – Understanding of how each element of the LNG business value chain (from feed gas supply source through to the market) affects the optimum project outcome and corresponding economic/value drivers
• LNG venture commercial agreements and finance structuring – Understanding of what constitutes the various LNG specific commercial agreements (gas sales agreements, OPCO agreements and product purchase agreements) and project financing/world bank requirements and how they affect the activity definition sequencing, scheduling and overall delivery of an LNG project
• LNG project integration management – Understanding of how all the elements of the LNG/FLNG project chain integrate with each other and are managed to successfully deliver the right business outcome – from design, construction, and through to commissioning and handover to operations
• LNG project execution strategies – Knowledge of LNG specific FEED and EPC execution strategies and the ability to develop and apply the most appropriate execution strategy to meet project objectives.
• LNG plant design and technologies – Knowledge of the range of LNG chain technologies available and how these can be applied to benefit the development solution and overall value drivers
• LNG supply chain capability, relationships and capacity – Knowledge of who can do what, where, with whom and their performance specific to delivery of LNG projects
• LNG project contract strategies and forms of contract – Knowledge of the specific contracting approaches and forms of contracts for LNG projects, their implicit impacts on project execution practices, resources and risk premiums, and how the best approaches can lever benefits from the supply chain
• LNG project execution risk profiles and mitigation strategies –Knowledge of the specific risks that affect LNG project execution and how they can be mitigated.
• LNG project control frameworks – Knowledge of how LNG projects are broken down, controlled, trended and forecast from a cost and schedule perspective including how this relates specifically to LNG project delivery risk profiles.
• LNG industry best practices and lessons learned – Knowledge of the LNG specific best practices and real experience to enable the application of LNG specific lessons learned to optimize project outcome and operational performance.
• LNG operations – Knowledge of LNG plant and marine operations and how the focus on these aspects is determined and successfully achieved during facility design, construction and commissioning execution
• HSEQ excellence – Proven HSEQ leadership in managing and delivering large complex oil & gas/LNG projects. Robust knowledge of design safety requirements, safety related operating procedures, environmental impact assessment and quality management systems
• Compliance/Assurance – Experienced at determining the compliance requirements for complex, high value projects and initiating and managing the necessary engagement with corporate assurance processes
• Stakeholder management – Experienced in engaging government authorities, JV partners, contractors, NGOs and local communities at all levels.

Required Personal Capabilities:
• Strategic thinker able to quickly identify and assimilate problems, create appropriate solutions and implement decisive action
• Motivated team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire and develop others
• Friendly multi-cultural attitude with proven experience in successfully negotiating with and influencing stakeholders
• Exhibit resilience and adaptability to changing circumstances

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• Engineering/technical degree (mechanical, civil, structural, chemical, mining, etc.)
• Second/Masters degree would be an advantage

Professional Qualifications
• Professionally qualified engineer (CEng or equivalent)
• Member of professional project management association (PMI, APM, etc.)

Training and Courses:
• Project management advanced courses
• Risk management advanced courses
• Team management skills advanced courses
• Communications skills advanced courses
• Economics advanced courses (preferred)

Languages:
• Fluent knowledge of English – spoken and written
• Knowledge of second language would be an advantage
