Job Title: Software Configuration Engineer for Technology IRF Projects
Job Location: London and South East

The Company:
Our client operates in the oil and gas sector.

The Role:
Candidate will work on Deployment, as opposed to R and D, Technology projects. Whilst the overall Deployment team will deploy hardware (e.g. skids on operational sites) and software, the candidate will work on the deployment of software products only; they will however be included in the overall team meetings so will be aware of where their role fits in with the remainder of the team.

The software used will be a mixture of our client’s own developed, known as Data to Desktop (D2D), and (Honeywell, ex Matrikon’s) Process Net for graphics trends etc.

The candidate will also be accessing, although not contributing to, P and IDs and other drawings and data sheets stored in our client’s various systems. Also, will be using data in historians such as PI, IP21 and PHD. The information obtained from these historians and drawings systems will be used in the D2D software application.

Responsibilities
•Working on 2011/2012 Technology/ IRF programme projects; actual projects to be identified, projects assigned may be changed in line with business priorities. However the project tasks will remain as per the list in deliverables.

•Training in the appropriate D2D/IRF software modules will be provided. All of the above will be expected in line with the individual project plans and timescales - these will be provided by others in the Appraise /Select stage of each project.

Deliverables
•Assist with interface connections and troubleshooting during Appraise stage. This task dependent on skill set of candidate, desirable - but not essential.
•Deliver completed spreadsheet templates for identified assets during Define stage (use information and data from P and IDs and historians).
•Deliver multiple graphics configuration and testing (including linking to data in global data historians and use of D2D software code), as defined in aforementioned spreadsheet template, during Execute stage, to the standards provided.
•Deliver training for up to four users per project during Operate and provide informal bubble support to users for up to six months following the end of Execute stage (during normal contractual office hours only).

Notes:
Position is based in London/South East England, however candidates can work from other location, with occasional office visits

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Understanding of P and ID drawings: Proficient
•Computer graphics software packages: Basic/ Proficient
•General good computer skills: Proficient

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Background in Oil and Gas Industry
•Knowledge of DCS Systems, interfaces between DCS Systems, Historians, OPC servers etc
•Training users in computer packages (any)

Skills
•Customer facing skills should be good.
•Expected to adhere to and lead by example with regards to safety.
•Demonstrate attention to detail and commitment to improvement in data integrity.
