The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
"Automatic Transmission Control Unit hardware & software Project Engineer with responsibilities for:

a) Project management & delivery of Transmission Controls software & hardware for new vehicle programmes
b) Validation of the Control Unit hardware & software on Vehicles and HIL Test Rigs to new programme timing milestones.
c) Documentation of Control Module Engineering Sign-off to Design Verification Procedures.
d) Production release of Control Unit hardware & software into the Manufacturing & Service environments.
e) Development of improved test processes & procedures through automation or other efficiency gains. With two of the worlds most iconic brands. 1)Good Electronics background with a proven record of on time project delivery of Electronic Control Units (in an Automotive or similar environment).
2)Wide experience & knowledge of the specification, validation testing & engineering sign-off for Automotive Control Unit hardware & software
3)Experience of leading meetings with the supplier & programme team to coordinate project delivery & the resolution of project & technical issues.

Experience Required: "Ability to plan & manage the delivery of complex new Control unit programmes to vehicle programme milestones. Good problem solving techniques and skills, including experience of fault finding/system de-bugging. Good communication and presentation skills, good PC/IT skills, flexible, committed, self starter & a strong team worker. Proven supplier management skills, capable of running supplier project & technical meetings & managing the resolution of issues with internal & external stakeholders. A valid UK driving licence (max 6 points) Relevant qualifications in Automotive Engineering, Electronics, or Control Systems (Degree preferred)."

Experience Preferred: "Knowledge of Vehicle Architecture & system interfaces. Knowledge of Flexray, CAN & LIN communications. Good experience & application of requirements capture techniques. Experience of CAN communication systems & analysis tools (e.g. CANalyser, INCA, Matlab, etc). Knowledge and understanding of WERS or an equivalent Bill of Material system. "
