The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Position Description:

- Applications Engineer, reporting to the Manager of the Instrumentation Services Group.
- Delivery of Instrumentation software to support the Cycle Plan.
- Supporting and working with Brakes Development customers to automate the post-acquisition data processing, metrics and reporting.
- Developing a house report style that is then used as part of an automated generation process.
- Scripts would be required to be documented/commented so that they can be edited at a later date or reused for further calculations.
- Further training for Brakes engineers so that they can edit/develop calculations in the future.
- Develop the required calculations using a consistent method to create an analysis tools ""library"" (e.g. Peak search, rate changes etc.) that can be easily updated.

Skills Required:
- Visual Basic scripting in conjunction with National Instruments DIAdem software.
- Knowledge of Data Processing techniques.
- Understanding of metrics and reporting requirements for test data.
- Ability to collate inputs from users and by examining exisiting analysis tools to create a specification.

Skills Preferred:
- Knowledge of Foundation Brakes tests and the associated metrics.
- Ability to work to tight timeframes and deliver fully documented scripts and provide necessary training for their use and future modification/update.
- Knowledge of XCP scripting may be desirable for a further project.

Experience Required:
- Knowledge of data acquisition systems and data processing.
- Evidence of sucessfully implemented scripts for data processing and reporting

Education Required:
- Preferably a degree level qualification in Engineering or IT.

Education Preferred:
- The ability to demonstrate support of a similar role elsewhere.
