The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
This role is for an experienced and highly motivated software engineer with responsibility for the development, delivery and validation of model based embedded software. This role relates specifically to the development of diagnostics, networks functionality and common components, and will be working in a team developing future ADAS features. Tasks Include: Development of model based software using Simulink / Stateflow / Targetlink including updates, additions of new features, bug fixes, and architecture improvements. Work with the software architect and software and controls engineers to define the diagnostic and fault handling strategy and associated architecture. Code productionisation, validation and industrialisation, including development and execution of MIL / SIL and HIL tests. Working with a team of system and controls engineers, including an offshore team, to manage timely delivery of software according to programme timing and local delivery milestones. Issue investigation and resolution.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
3 KEY SKILLS; 1. Experienced in control system and software development, integration and release using Mathworks toolchain (Matlab / Simulink / Stateflow) for real time embedded applications 2. Embedded networking and diagnostics standards (e.g. Flexray, CAN, ISO14229 / UDS), as well as fault detection and fault handling strategies 3. Software architecture definition including AutoSAR. Thorough understanding of control system and software development, integration and release using Mathworks toolchain (Matlab / Simulink / Stateflow) for real time embedded applications throughout the product lifecycle. Knowledge of embedded networking and diagnostics standards (e.g. Flexray, CAN, ISO14229 / UDS), as well as fault detection and fault handling strategies. Production code tools such as dSpace Targetlink, Mathworks Coder or similar. Experience of system engineering principles and ECU / Software Architecture including AutoSAR. Development and execution of robust DVM/DVP, including validation

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Understanding of Low level ECU functions e.g. OS, Network Management, ECU monitoring, start-up and shutdown, EEPROM management. Experience of Multicore / Multiprocessor systems would also be beneficial. Knowledge of the C programming language, and relevant standards e.g. MISRA. Software documentation and associated quality standards (e.g. SPICE). Knowledge of vehicle electrical architectures. SysML and associated tools such as IBM Rhapsody. Experience of component, system and vehicle level issue investigations including appropriate problem solving and reporting tools (5D, Is / Is Not, Fault Tree etc.) Experience of Flexray, CAN bus, automotive diagnostics and related system development tools (CANalyzer, ASL, CANape, etc.). Experience working with offshore software development teams and / or 3rd party ECU suppliers for software coding and integration tasks.
