The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
This role is for an experienced and highly motivated controls engineer with responsibility for the design, development and delivery of in-house control systems and software, for future Advanced Driver Assistance (ADAS) features. Tasks include: Design and development of model based control strategies. This includes development and demonstration of new concepts and systems via desktop simulation and concept vehicles, and working with software engineers to update and improve existing systems and architectures. Requirements analysis and decomposition, control strategy design, development and execution of validation process. Working with a team of system and software engineers, including an offshore team, to deliver concept and production systems in a timely manner according to vehicle programme timing and local delivery milestones.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED; 1. Thorough understanding of control system development, integration and release using Mathworks toolchain (Matlab / Simulink / Stateflow) for real time embedded applications. 2. Experience of system and software engineering principles, including ECU and software architecture development. 3. Experience of quality and robustness techniques and standards such as FMEA, P-Diagrams, noise factor analysis, and data analysis techniques to support this. Degree in Electronics, Software, Automotive / Aerospace engineering or similar subject, or equivalent industry experience. Experience of control strategy development and delivery through all stages of the engineering development `V' cycle. Requirements and change management tools and processes, software version control, control strategy documentation. Strong organisational, project management and communication skills essential. Knowledge of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project). Full UK driving license

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Prior experience of ADAS feature development preferred, though strong candidates with other relevant control system experience will also be considered. Knowledge of software engineering principals including model based development, dSpace Targetlink, the C programming language, and relevant standards e.g. MISRA advantageous but not essential. Experience of virtual test, component test and vehicle testing including proving ground environments. Experience of component and system level issue investigations including appropriate problem solving and reporting tools (Six Sigma, 5D, Is / Is Not, Fault Tree etc.). Experience of automotive networking, diagnostics and fault handling techniques, and related system development tools (CANalyzer, ASL, CANape, etc.). Experience working with or managing offshore software development teams and / or 3rd party ECU suppliers for software coding and integration tasks.
