The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
This role is for an experienced and highly motivated simulation engineer with responsibility for the design, development and delivery of virtual test environments to support the development and validation of in-house ADAS control systems and software, for future Advanced Driver Assistance (ADAS) features. Tasks include: Design, development and qualification of virtual test environments and plant models using tools such as Mathworks, Simulink and IPG CarMaker. Lead the design of virtual manoeuvres and test sequences to demonstrate system performance. Working with a team of control, system and software engineers, including an offshore team, to deliver concept and production systems in a timely manner according to vehicle programme timing and local delivery milestones.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
3 key skills; Thorough understanding of the Mathworks toolchain (Matlab / Simulink / Stateflow) and IPG CarMaker. Experience of system engineering principles, with understanding of validation techniques throughout the engineering 'V' cycle. Development of DV and associated process and infrastructure including test case design, traceability to requirements, and qualification of test environment. Degree in Electronics, Software, Automotive / Aerospace engineering or similar subject, or equivalent industry experience. Experience of control strategy virtual validation, to include plant model creation. Understanding of validation techniques throughout all stages of the engineering development `V' cycle. Knowledge of Mathworks tools, IPG CarMaker. Experience of requirements and change management tools and workflow, test case development and traceability. Strong organisational, project management and communication skills essential. Knowledge of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint,

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Prior experience of ADAS validation preferred, though strong candidates with other relevant skills and experience will also be considered. Experience of open and closed loop validation, preferably including validation of ADAS systems via data replay in a MIL, SIL or HIL environment. Robustness analysis and test techniques (e.g. noise factors, design tolerances). Experience of dSpace HIL rigs, and other validation tools such as Vector CANape, CANalyser, ADTF. Test automation tools and test script creation. Experience of automotive networking, diagnostics and fault handling techniques. Knowledge of software engineering principals including software architecture and embedded C programming would be advantageous but not essential. Problem solving and reporting tools (Six Sigma, 5D, Is / Is Not, Fault Tree etc). Experience working with or managing offshore software development teams and / or 3rd party ECU suppliers.
