The Role:
Software Project Manager
DeltaRail is passionate about the need to drive up services and improve consumer access across public transportation. We are currently implementing technology that makes this possible, building a transport data platform that includes a wide range of sources, from operational to social, geospatial to live. We have deployed websites and Apps into the public domain and are currently looking to expand our solutions capability and reach.
We are looking for a DevOps Manager to join this growing area of our business. Your primary role will be in driving the activities of the development team(s) in this product area, while actively facilitating our growth by supporting its sales activities. You will be involved in shaping and recruiting to the team, improving our development approaches, and bringing in good practice in Agile development and rapid deployment. Exposure to more traditional Waterfall type approaches to software development projects would also be useful.
You will need to have strong personal drive and a desire to succeed. You will be able to demonstrate how to drive projects forward despite obstacles. You will be working with others in a small team where everyone needs to own and enhance project outcomes. You should have experience of working in a development environment where rigour in the design and implementation is essential, and must work to support, not restrain, the delivery of product. You will be working closely with the Business Lead in this area and will be reporting to the Software Delivery Director.
We need someone who can:
 Engage in multiple projects simultaneously, ask tough questions, and challenge assumptions
 Organise and motivate, creating an environment that enables the team to be creative and successful
 Work independently as well as through people, personally assertive and resilient
 Work at pace and comfortable in fast-moving DevOps environments
 Deliver Product and Product enhancement projects in line with Company expectations
Familiarity with the following will be useful:
 Product development for iOS and Android
 AWS Cloud Services
 High data volume/transaction processing
 Security
 JIRA, Confluence, GitHub
 High volume, high transaction, NoSQL and Schema-less data storage
 Data analytics
The role will be London based, with occasional travel to our main offices in Derby.
