The Company:
Our client is an innovative software and technology company that is dedicated to the needs of the rail industry. Due to continued project awards, they are currently looking for a Software Testing & Assurance Manager to manage a number of their larger software and signalling projects.

The Role:
• Leadership and ownership of process and organisational change initiatives that will deliver a more robust approach to assuring data quality when implementing our products.
• Understanding of key testing requirements for product implementation projects and contributing to the development of efficient risk-based strategies for assurance and testing of software application delivery projects.
• Working with project teams to support the application of a reliable and consistent risk-based approach to data quality control with appropriate checks, including gating reviews.
• Management of a number of software testers with varying levels of experience, allocating clear, realistic work packages to meet project requirements.
• Identifying, raising and mitigating key assurance risks on projects, including commercial risks, highlighting areas of concern to Project Managers and Delivery Directors in a timely way.
• Developing relationships with and effectively manage any third party suppliers or business partners.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
In addition to a degree-level qualification, the successful candidate will:
• Possess demonstrable project and change management skills and experience
• Have experience of process improvement initiatives, ideally those that include improving organisational effectiveness and introducing new governance models
• Have considerable experience in a Software Management role, including experience of: automated software test tools, software development methodology, and the testing environment
• Have an action-oriented, proactive and assertive approach; someone who is confident in suggesting new ideas and developing solutions
• Ideally, the candidate will have experience in a commercially focussed engineering or software project delivery environment, and be familiar with:
o industry-standard risk-based approaches to the assurance of requirements and data for product implementation projects
o automated testing tools
o tools-based management frameworks for test assets and artefacts
