Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.
"Charging Communications Specialist Reporting to the Hybrid Charging Technical Specialist, the successful candidate will be responsible for a number of key deliverables in support of Programmes related to Charging Systems. The candidate shall be responsible for:
Research and development into charging communications based on low-level and high level communications using wired and wireless physical mediums (Power Line Communications, Wireless Communications)
Decomposition and development of both internal (JLR) and external (IEC, ISO, SAE, and IETF) standards.
Design, development and validation of communications technology using GTDS process
Delivery of communications technology inline with internal engineering process
Support delivery of communications technology in vehicle programmes
Close liaison with research activities related to vehicle telematics and Charging Power Electronics, EDS with both internal and external stakeholders
Ownership of communications requirements for wired and wireless charging including local charging control, smart charging and smart grid use cases."
3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
1. Knowledge of ISO Layer Model and prior experience with Networking
2. Knowledge of MAC, DLL, NET, TRANPORT, PRESENTATION, APPLICATION layer protocols such as TCP/IP, XML, EXI, SSL and certificate management
3. Programming and testing experience on embedded targets "
Experience Required: "Experience with SysML or UML modelling language. Knowledge of HomePlug Green PHY Power Line Communications (desirable). Knowledge of Wireless Networking (Bluetooth, Zigbee, WiFi). Knowledge of ISO layer model (PHY, MAC, DLL, NET, TRANPORT, PRESENTATION, APPLICATION) Knowledge of TCP/IP. Knowledge of XML and EXI. Programming Skills in C, Java or C#. Hardware Skills Microcontrollers, Schematic Capture, Layout"
Experience Preferred: "Project management. Familiarity with relevant ISO/IEC/SAE/IEEE standards would be an advantage "
