The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The Role:
• Senior Engineering Position within the team.
• Integral part of the Service Department, having responsibility as a team member, for successful completion of the Utilisation/Specialist components of all UK Customer service contracts.
• Identification of opportunities, in order to generate increased revenue within the department.
• Project (PSE) and Sales support.
• This role will operate across the UK Customer base, on a 24x365 process
• Product range includes AccuRay 1180,1190, Nexus, 800xA
• Optimising performance of mainly QCS (Quality Control Systems) within the UK Customer base
• MD and CD tuning to optimise machine and cross direction controls. (As a pre-requisite of this work, ability to tune Level 1 PID loops).
• Identify/Perform Customer training in order to achieve this goal. (Includes system and sensor calibration training).
• Efficient completion of this work within the scope of the Customer Contract agreement.
• Process studies, data analysis and recommend actions from these studies.
• Sales Support,: To provide technical support during sales pursuits, and provide economic projected savings reports,
• Project Support: To provide support to the project team (PSE) during new installations and upgrades. Training, tuning and results report documentation.

• Duties also include :-
• Supervisory role
• Good communication/documentation/housekeeping and good safety practices are key in this function within the service department.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree in Papermaking with solid knowledge of QCS or DCS systems
Or
• Min HNC / HND in Engineering discipline with several years experience within the Paper industry working on QCS / DCS systems

• Experience of the Paper Manufacturing Process, associated Instrumentation and control systems.
• Experience (practical and theoretical) of PID loop Tuning.
• Good understanding of statistical methods/theory used to analysis data and optimise control loop performance.
• Good Communications skills (both verbal and written) at all levels within company and customer environment.
• Good presentation skills essential (preparation and execution).
• Proven ability to work well (under pressure and unsupervised) within defined timescales to meet departments contractual commitments.
• Proficient PC skills MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint etc., (as a minimum).
• Supervisory skills to support and take active role in level 2 rota, (24hr x 365 day process).
