The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The specialist engineer will be responsible for management and delivery of engine/powertrain technology projects to a concept readiness maturity level to support handover to the production programme team. They will be the key interface between the engine and powertrain system development teams, ensuring the program is delivered on time to the appropriate quality standards and feeding back the results to the management team. The specialist engineer will provide design direction to the Powertrain & Engine development groups.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Demonstrate the ability to lead the resolution of technical, business and process issues within a team environment.
Good communication, interpersonal skills and self confidence are personal qualities needed to succeed, being self motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.
Strong engineering background, excellent team working skills and an understanding of Product Development processes.
Working knowledge of gasoline and/or passenger car diesel engines, powertrain systems and powertrain controls/calibration.
Knowledge of vehicle systems would be beneficial.
Good understanding of powertrain/engine component design and manufacturing methods
Awareness of manufacturing processes associated with engine/ powertrain components and assembly desirable.
Educated to degree level in a suitable engineering discipline or suitable previous experience

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
CAD Catia V5 / Teamcentre / Vis-mockup working knowledge would be beneficial Disciplined approach on planning, prioritisation and records keeping Valid driving license for use in the UK required Good analytical skills & PC skills Excel, Word and Project
