The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
As part of an established, motivated and fast moving team, the successful candidate will deliver engine Turbo charger components and sub-systems as part of a module. Delivery scale would be from concept to post launch and subsequent in field warranty support, on commencement the candidate may expect to work heavily on our new engine programmes. Keys areas of responsibility; design/package (leading Design and CAD engineers) and design development (leading suppliers), leading the component/sub-system, DVP and FMEA, cost optimisation, complex issue resolution, physical analysis and review of engine test components, project management to GPDS milestones, supplier management, change management via WERs releasing system & launch preparation via APQP and PSW deliverables.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The candidate must have a knowledge of component design and delivery on engine systems. This covers Turbo machines with regards to; Understand fundamentals of turbo machine design from a mechanical and aerodynamic stand point. Understanding of turbo package requirements with regards to thermal and aerodynamic requirements. Understanding of the typical manufacturing processes used for Turbo machines. Understanding of typical failure modes of turbo systems and sub components. Understanding implications on turbo performance from other system variables. Keys areas of responsibility: design, development and package analysis (working with Design and CAD engineers), advanced problem solving using an 8D type toolset, managing part delivery. Quality Process (DFMEA), Launch preparation via APQP and PSW deliverables. Project management to GPDS milestones, Supplier liaison, Change management via WERs releasing system (BOM updates), liaising with STA to ensure product quality and support of part de

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Understanding of manufacturing process mainly used in turbo machines such as casting, machining and manufacture of high speed rotating assemblies. Knowledge of high temperature steel / iron alloys used in the manufacture of exhaust manifold and turbines. Working knowledge of product delivery system ( AIMs , GPDS and EFDVS systems) would be an advantage.
