The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The Hybrid System Architect Project Leader will define future hybrid architectures by cross managing research and APC team members inside Powertrain (transmission, driveline, electrical engine, ICE, System & Control), but also outside with Electrical (Battery, Starter, Alternator, Power Supply, IPC, Multimedia, ADAS), Chassis (Brake, power steering) and Body (AC compressor, heating). Key Responsibilities: Invent and/or frame hybrid concepts based on benchmarking data, new features, compliance. Develop new Hybrid concepts by drafting system architectures which could full fill Attributes and Features requirements. Draft TFLE and material cost associated and therefore frame Studies, 9Box Tech Hopper then TCDS projects or APC projects. Cross manage the components teams across CoC to drive the projects in full Quality, Cost, Time, Weight, Attributes, Features & Risks. Secure Gateways deliverables on time and at right quality level. Monitor projects progress through dashboards. Lead the convergence of the technical Hybrid system architecture of each project through: Gathering all needs/requirements for the System, thanks to F-SOI and Functional Analysis of the Needs. Proposing & rationale possible System architectures to full fill the requirements by selecting necessary sub systems & components. Proposing & rationale dedicated allocation of the requirements to the sub systems & components of each architecture. Choosing with rationale the best System architecture by assessing each architectures safety, performances, costs, timing and risks. Rationales supported by studies, CAE results, vehicle benchmark and demo car test results. Gathering all possible sub systems & components requirements induced by the System and transferring them to subsystems & components teams. The successful candidate will also be reporting the project status at forums within the Powertrain team and to external departments with Senior management present.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
System engineering experience, ideally in the field of hybrid or Power Train engineering. Experience in System Design techniques, Safety Analysis methods, Attribute requirements allocation on components, 2-3 years experience in Cross functional management: Strong Leadership skills are essential. Experience of TCDS expected; Experience in PCDS, RMDV2, AIMS, and programme central (i3) ideal. A strong technical knowledge of key hybrid technologies (i.e. electrical motor, battery, transmission, charger, decoupled brakes). A sound technical knowledge of key vehicle systems and whole vehicle engineering. Engineering degree level needed, master in System Design ideal. Fluent in use of Microsoft Office packages, specifically Word, Excel, Power Point and Project. MatLab Simulink or other simulation tools experience highly appreciated. Strong Leadership skills essential. Experience of TCDS, PCDS, RMDV2, AIMS, and i3 essential. Experience of being successful in managing complex technical issues,

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience of Programme Central desirable. Knowledge of the Hybrid Powertrain systems desirable. Knowledge of the Electrical systems desirable. Knowledge of software delivery control plans desirable. Knowledge of target setting process desirable. Knowledge of FMA desirable.
